Nicholls State has Clemson assistant basketball coach
Richie Riley as a finalist to replace former head coach J.P. Piper according to ESPN.
The Colonels finished the 2015 season with a dismal 11-23 overall record and tied for 9th place in the Southland Conference. The public university is located in Thibodaux, Louisiana and was founded in 1948. Riley joined the Clemson staff after former Clemson assistant coach Earl Grant left to be named head basketball coach at College of Charleston in September 2014. He also worked for two seasons at UAB, a year at Eastern Kentucky and two years at Coastal Carolina under Cliff Ellis.
