Chad Morris on decision to play Cole Stoudt |
We asked offensive coordinator
Chad Morris
Chad Morris "We had five minutes to go in the game, and we felt like the game was out of hand...out of reach," Morris said. "We wanted to get Cole in and get him some reps in during that time. We decided to put him in. I actually went to Coach Swinney and said, 'Look, my preference is to get Deshaun (Watson) out of the game.' We felt we had a comfortable enough lead, and we didn't want to get anybody hurt and we wanted to get Cole in and get him some snaps." Morris said if North Carolina had scored again, Watson would have been put back in the game. "We had talked to Deshaun about getting back and getting ready," he said. "But it was a moot point. We had talked about and the last thing we wanted to do was get somebody hurt."
