Clemson on ESPN's Upset Watch against Louisville |
Clemson (2-0) will be playing Louisville (0-2) on Thursday night on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
The Louisville faithful and their players have decided to wear blackout attire for this opening ACC contest for both teams. The stadium crowd should be noisy and enthusiastic to try to help sway the Cardinals from a possible 0-3 start. Therefore, ESPN analyst Andrea Adelson has put Clemson on the infamous upset alert list. "The Tigers have played two cupcakes and won easily; the Cards have played two tough opponents and lost," Adelson said. "Does being more “battle-tested” help Louisville? Perhaps. Louisville is a mess on offense right now, and will once again be without receivers James Quick and Jamari Staples. But the Cards did show flashes at times in their first two games. If they stop turning the ball over and get a consistent performance out of whoever starts at quarterback, an upset is not out of the question." Swinney said on Tuesday that he is excited to see his team play on the road against a talented team in Louisville. "It's a great opportunity for our team, I'm excited to see us play," Swinney said. "I want to see us compete for four quarters in a hostile environment. How do we handle adversity in the game?" The latest Las Vegas odds range from 5.5 to a 7 point spread for Clemson over Louisville. Tomorrow is a Black Out! Cards face #9 Clemson at 7:30 pm on ESPN pic.twitter.com/izCA2pwuVX
