Former Clemson offensive tackle Brandon Thomas has been traded to the Lions for Jeremy Kerley on Sunday pending physicals.

"Thanks 49ers for the opportunity these last two years," Thomas tweeted on Sunday afternoon. "Looking forward to playing the game I love for the Detroit Lions." #blessed #Lions

The 49ers were in need of another wide receiver and were willing to trade Thomas with their interior depth on the offensive line.

Thomas was selected by the 49ers in the 3rd round with the 100th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft. In 2013, he was selected First-Team All-ACC after playing left tackle for the Tigers.
