Smith, so please don't make comments about it on signing day tomorrow. He is the nephew of President Clements, so coaches felt obligated to offer a spot on the team. Very bad look for both Daniel and Clemson. However, we proudly claim Misun Kelley as he is going to be a stud. Hoping for a successful signing day tomorrow.

the soviet union and china were the fastest growing economies of all time and lifted hundreds of millions out of poverty. they both went from agricultural societies to industrial powers in a couple of decades. both rivaled the united states as the global superpower. thats not a bad record.

according to the national institute of health, 26,000 americans die every year because of lack of health insurance. i could add up the amount of deaths in capitalist countries and i bet it would be really high just like the ussr and china too.

No one is dying because of a lack of healthcare in America.

Poor people in America get Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid.
The poorest people in America, have cell phones, flatscreen, TVs, high-speed, Internet, automobiles, often more than one, centralize, heating and air, I could go on and on and on. The poorest people in America are among the top 10% in wealth globally.
Virtually every problem in America is because of government. The bigger the government, the more problems. America started declining following World War I because of the FED and bigger government. Abraham Lincoln was one of the first big government authoritarians. FDR was the next. All right then of course let’s not forget LBJ. Also some of our biggest problems today are thanks to Jimmy Carter.
The funny thing is you think you’re smart and you think you’re right when history and every form of measure prove that democracy and capitalism are infinitely better than anything people like you want or have ever thought about. It’s not perfect But capitalism, especially without government Interference is what brought the world out of poverty. There are plenty of people in America that come from communist countries. That have seen communism firsthand. They have seen Socialism firsthand. You should talk to them. They’ll tell you just how wrong you are!

Lowcountry
HolyShitt Batman - how many incorrect statements can you pack into one post ?
1. Poor people in America do not get Social Security or Medicare. They may sometimes qualify for Medicaid (which is very limited in its impact)
2. Virtually every problem in America is because of government. Even if there weren't massive numbers of examples of where that is not true, such a sweeping, negative statement should not even be taken seriously.
3. America started declining after WW I. Whattheactualfuck ?? Our response in WW II was the US in decline ? The post-war boom and the rise of the middle class ?? Man on the moon ? The leading technological country on the planet ???
4. Finally this worship of capitalism without regulation - even Adam Smith (the godfather of capitalism) said that capitalism needs to be regulated to best benefit the country and its people

“Private health insurance” is not private because health care is the most heavily regulated industry in the US. THAT’s why it’s unaffordable to many people. Don’t try me on this. I’ve practiced medicine for 40 years. I know

And then they turned to capitalism or forms of it.
China has a communist authoritarian system, but it is capitalism in its economy and that is the only thing that has kept the people from overthrowing the government. But that’s on the way!
You’re also playing games with statistics.
Of course an economy can grow faster if you take someone from pretty much zero dollars in income to $1000 per year. People in other cultures have always made money so any increase even if you double it is statistically smaller.
But this is what people like you do best. Brainwash people with nonsense that all it takes is the slightest bit of common sense or critical thinking to disprove.
All of the things you mentioned are easily solved by starting your own business. But you can’t do that in a socialist society. And actually, as your side has taken more control of our government, because we do have a socialist government. We are a fascist society run by oligarchs. It has become increasingly difficult to make more money and to start your own business. Congratulations!
And no, I’m not confused. Fascism is left-wing ideology. That’s another thing that academia and the left did following World War II. Brainwash people into thinking fascism is right wing. Again, congratulations!
Your side is winning. That’s why families, and America, along with other western countries are failing and collapsing.
You should watch on YouTube the 1984 interview with Yuri Bezmenov and wake up!

You have just stirred communism, socialism, totalitarianism, oligarchy and fascism all into one big pot. No wonder you are angry and confused. Try separating the concepts and a way forward might become more clear.
And are you seriously suggesting that some 40 year old interview is the way to figure out the best way forward for our country ? C'mon man.

Those concepts are, practically speaking, all in the same pot, like any ingredients in a stew. You may separate them semantically nonetheless they all intersect in a Venn diagram of Marxist manifesto. Socialists like to point out the differences which are minimal when compared to the similarities.

Totalitarianism, fascism, and oligarchy are political terms. Each has their own definition - which may or may not exist concurrently.
Communism, socialism, (& capitalism) are economic terms which I challenge YOU to define accurately.

Stalin!
"In 2001, American historian Richard Pipes argued that the population had decreased by 9 to 10 million people from the 1932 to 1939 censuses. In 2003, British historian Simon Sebag Montefiore suggested that Stalin was ultimately responsible for the deaths of at least 20 million people."

And murdered millions and subjugated hundreds of millions and created a 2 tier socioeconomic system composed of elites and disenfranchised. The disenfranchised have no choice. You do. You can make the switch anytime you wish. They can’t

That’s absolutely flying dog karma. Both the Soviet Union and Chinese Communists used slave labor to accomplish much of what they accomplished, killing millions along the way (about 80 million by China alone). Having no restraints or decency allowed them to become productive, though Russia is a third world economy with an advanced military. Without Hong Kong and Taiwan, China would be similar to Russia.

Fire department is local govt. Military runs the military (despite social tinkering). Social Security and Medicare are unfunded liabilities (no worries, crank up the presses). Have to driven anywhere lately? TWO trillion dollar “infrastructure” bills passed since 2008 and no noticeable upgrades. Try again Jr.

Local government is still government, no ?
You have heard of the Pentagon, yes ?
Social Security and Medicare have lifted tens of millions of Americans out of poverty.
Our infrastructure has some problems, but overall, given its size and complexity, it serves us pretty well.
So, Jr. how would you do it all better ?

Yes. But local government is easier to control. This conversation wasn’t about local government.
The Pentagon is made up of military. The only problem comes from the military-industrial complex which is lobbying and pork fat politicians. As far as performance, the military has only been hindered by government and the press. Still important that a “civilian” be the commander in chief though.
Social Security and Medicare don’t really lift anyone out of poverty, they are safety nets to prevent people from falling into poverty. Supposedly trust funds to not be touched but politicians (especially one side) couldn’t help but use them to buy votes. Jury is definitely out on whether they’ll survive (see my last) especially with a growing number of “migrants” being given access.
Our infrastructure is past “some problems”. This should be a state issue (except the interstate highways) but the federal govt uses these funds to extort states.
My way of doing it better, would be abolishing a good bit of the federal bureaucracy (DOE comes to mind) and looking to the Constitution (10th Amendment). Definitely not looking to the failed policies of Socialism. Any idea why so many Venezuelans are pouring over the southern border?

"The actions by governments of communist states have been subject to criticism across the political spectrum. Rule by communist parties has often led to totalitarianism, political repression, restrictions of human rights, poor economic performance, and cultural and artistic censorship."

Define “spot on the team” … scholarship? PWO? Reg Walk-on?

What?
If he’s simply walking on, then I don’t see the big issue.

I completely understand the frustration with the Daniel kids, especially in light of perceived roster mismanagement/recruiting misses. However, I don't care if Dabo lets one of the Daniel cheerleaders walk on if we are back in the playoffs next year.

I consider this a big nothing burger.
If I were school president, I would make sure my nephew had a spot on the football team too if that was his dream. And if I were Dabo, I would know better than to say no to the school president.

If he wants to bust his rear for four years to never see the field I don't know what it matters if he isn't taking up a scholly.

program. What are you actually signing up for? To get your skull cracked by one of the best defenses in America every day. What do you get in return for getting your skull cracked? To be a part of something bigger than you, to get some cool gear, and to perhaps access to academic services. Maybe if you work hard for 4-5 years you get in for a few snaps on senior day of your last season. If you are an anomaly like Renfrow you bet on yourself and you only get your skull cracked for one season and work your way up to get a scholarship.
Every team in America has walk-ons and they all know what they are in for--to run the opposing teams offense or defense knowing that they don't have the ALL American's on their side of the line of scrimmage and they are gonna get their skulls cracked. We couldn't do it without them.
