Does anyone think we beat Louisville if we play like we did

last night?
I'm just going to go ahead and pretend that our coaches didn't want to "show" too much on offense last night. Because I can't think of any other reason why we looked so bad on offense. We didn't distribute the ball to any of our playmakers. It looked about as plain vanilla as could be.

Not worried...we have almost 3 weeks before our first ACC match up. They will get better...they will improve...they will fix the mistakes. I believe.

We might be the first team ever that doesn't play the same every week. So there is that too.

We seem to be a Jekyll and Hyde kind of team right now. Not sure what to think.

If we played Charoltte instead of Auburn we would have put up 70 points and 1000 yards of offense. Would that make you feel better?

Do you not think it had anything at all to so with Auburn's defensive line? They are probably the 2nd best we will face this year behind FSU.
Also, it was the first game of the freaking season, in a true road game, in a notoriously hostile environment.
We will be okay, even if we lose a game or two.

If we had played Louisville yesterday, we would've lost. We've got time to get it together. It took 6 weeks last year.

Remember, we didn't run our full offense until we played ND last season. 1) it takes a minute for the offense to get dialed in 2) they keep the playbook simple until needed and until the offense is in tune.

Football is all about the matchup, seriously. Hats off to Auburn's defense firstly. I was impressed with both their coverage and penetration in the trenches. Secondly, I've never seen a team with more misdirection, pre-snap motion, randomly using wing-T, or rotating 3 quarterback packages throughout each and every offensive series... That wasn't your "everyday vanilla" team, that's for sure. Their strategy bordered the bizarre, but it almost worked for them! And wasn't Roosevelt in office the last time we beat Auburn at home? I love that we started against a tough matchup vs. an FCS blowout. False confidence is the worst thing to have. We got chin-checked and will make adjustments from there.
That being said, I agree our offensive calling was ridiculous at times. I agree that our seniors (leaders on the field) did some foolish stuff. BUT, I also have newfound confidence in our new defense. I fell in love with Jadar Johnson. I saw the confidence build in Dexter Lawrence like the mountain that he is. I truly believe, once the rust is gone by week 3, that we will be ridiculously good!!
Anyways, I like the W.

Honestly think that Auburn is a top 10/15 defense if they stay healthy . I know CKS gets a lot of flack from Tiger fans who seem only to remember the Orange Bowl debacle and forget that we were pretty stout under him at DC . That said , I do think this next couple of weekends will sharpen us up , and from the looks of it our defense will again be a strong suit .
And oh yeah ...we have the DW4 .
We are going to beat Louisville again , but they will again be a tough test . Glad it is at Death Valley .
