Is Mac Lain correct about Bama's D?

"I don’t think they’ve really been tested running the ball”
Outside of LSU who has tested them running the ball?

along with Fournette, they shut down Clements at Wisconsin and Chubb at Georgia until he got an 80 yard run in garbage time up 38-3..however, I know that Gallman is a talented back but Bama should be up for the challenge..now if they can stop the designed runs by Watson is what I'm wondering

offense in the country,LSU 7th rushing offense in the country but with the 106th ranked passing offense I am assuming BAMA was able to load the box,Georgia Laugh out Loud with the 83 ranked offense and the 104th ranked passing offense. I wouldn't brag about shutting those teams running games down......Now, on the other hand, Oklahoma with the #7 total offense,22nd ranked rushing offense, and 17th ranked passing offense, if you could hold them to less than 63 yards rushing, I would say you shut them down. IMHO of course.

but this is tehe entire quote
“They’re No. 1 in a lot of categories, but I don’t think they’ve really been tested running the ball,” said Mac Lain. “They’ve given up 70 yards a game, so they’ve been a pretty dominant force.”
“It’s Alabama,” said First Team All-ACC and Clemson offensive guard Eric Mac Lain on Tuesday. “They’re not comparable to anyone. They have some monsters over there. We’re really looking forward to that challenge.”
The entire quote makes a world of difference

I'm guessing Bama won't do an all out pass rush for fear of Watson taking off which may give Watson time to get off some quick throws except in obvious passing downs. Thoughts?

Can't be predictable but we can run. Like the 5 wide set we go qb run every time the last few games. Elliot and Scott will have to be better than that. I'm a realist. We need to attack the entire field. Bama's run defense is tough up the A gap. So why play in their hands Mich. St. They struggle with AnM because of the spread so spread them out. We will not beat them playing their game LSU. But get Deshaun going with some quick throws n jet sweeps and of course throw deep early to put that fear in them. When we pass Deshaun will have lanes he can get that 5 or 10 yds scramble or more. But we have to be the spread hunh team we are. We have the qb they have rarely faced that can throw and run to defeat them. Just my 2cents.

Not hard to shut down Chubb when the bulldog's had no QB, same for LSU. Can you name the Badger's QB? I can't.

Honestly, I'd say about 20% of Watson's runs are "by design". The rest are decided after the snap.

All the teams they played even Wisconsin plays slow old man football ., MSU was the worse ,.,
Their plays are so slow 3 lineman and 2 linebackers were on the ball carrier before he could get started ., Dabo has waited to open the playbook to loosen them up some .,
They will be shocked also ,. Pac 12 ref's love holding flags .,

Where'd you read/hear Maclain say this? He's not an instigator and he normally doesn't disrespect the opposition. I don't believe Maclain would stir the pot, he's busy getting his brothers focused.
Everyone in the nation knows Bama has been battle tested in the run game, for gods sake almost every team in the SEC lives and dies by the run game.

That is not a knock at all. The context was that we have a QB that runs a zone read along with a great RB. That is way different that a Chub or a Fornette.

Mac Lain was never quoted as saying this. Come here to talk sh*t, fine...but don't come over here and start putting fckn words into player's mouth to try and score some Bama motivation to start a sh*t thread. No player would say that about Alabama...get real...if you in as much effort into fckn your fat wife as you do running your c@ck sucker over here, she wouldn't wouldn't sucking on my "gamecock" right now.

If indeed the quote is accurate...

Given the context, I don't think MacLain is too far off base. Clemson runs a style of offense that Bama doesn't see often. With a consistent running back and QB that can run, it is true that Bama hasn't faced that yet. Ole Miss and Kelly were the closest and he Swag doesn't run as well as Watson.
