If true, ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips should resign immediately in my opinion.

ACC is definitely not upholding it's fiduciary duties to the conference members. This could be our way out. I certainly hope Clemson did not sign off on this crazy agreement.

What’s not true? That article suggests the exact same 58/32 split.

Perhaps I need to reread the article again, but does it not simply state the conferences have “unanimously agreed to a CFP FRAMEWORK”? Thus, the proposal of revenue distribution is but one possibility correct? Not that the ACC has actually agreed to such….
Right?

In the article: " That leaves 10% left for Notre Dame and the Group of 5 conferences."
I totally understand the history and fan base of Notre Dame, but how can you justify apparently contractually agreeing to pay them more than other teams in the same group of independents and Group of 5 conferences?

I guess the ACC and the Big East should get the lions share of the $$$ from the NCAA basketball tournament then. Current members of those 2 conferences have won 15 of the last 19.

Folks can get angry at ACC leadership all they want, ACC Commissioner answers to ACC Presidents and they obviously think he’s doing a great job which should raise the obvious question of , does Clemson leadership really have a clue. Drad signed the contract that has us locked in till 3015, and many people are trying to convince themselves that Neff and Clements silence and inaction are just a front to disguise backroom negotiations that is getting Clemson out of Drads screw up. Is that the case or is Clemson just going the usual and traditional route of depending on ACC brass to take care of Clemson?

My best guess is....
Mar 13, 2024, 8:04 PM
|

....the P2 said, "This is our final offer. Take it or we leave and form our own league and you guys can stay here and play without us."
It makes it that much more imperative for any school who wants to stay at the elite level of college football to get into 1 of those 2 conferences ASAP.

ACC & B12 just decide to bend over & let the SEC/B10 have their way.
Really wish everyone could've been able to sit down over the years (playoff chatter has dated as far back as 1960s) & hammered down a legit playoff format that would've meshed w/ the bowl system (D2 & D3 manage to do a playoff & have bowl games as well). Instead it's all been a means for select schools/conferences to try & hoard $ and power.

SEC and Big 10 have so much power now that they could literally just call the ACC a G5. We are past the point of being screwed as long as we are in ACC

I think if I was Clements and have spent a couple years working on getting out of the ACC then approving the proposal would be a no brainer. Try being dissenting vote and see how that goes over in the two conferences you’re looking to get an invite. If Clemson plans to be in the P2 then they want a slice of that 58% and could care less about the 32%.

Ten another advantage. At what point do you stand up for yourself and say you know what you guys have the decked stacked so much in your favor financially that it's obvious we can't match you in any way in paying for players, facilities, etc. As a result, good luck with your two conference league. We're not agreeing to anything else that you have crafted in your favor.

a lesser %. Think about it ppl.....
LOL at those few who want to stay in a conference that leeches off of us. Many years of not getting full consideration although we bring in the most; getting screwed on third year of probation, but then UNC and MIA get off scot-free, criminal officiating across the sports spectrum; etc, etc, etc..... LOL.
Soon enough, you will see CLEMs value....
Don't be afraid of change folks. Grow, evolve, get better.
LISTEN to Dabo.......
