ACC EMPLOYEES ON TIGERNET?

I have noticed that since FSU and CLEMSON FILED LAWSUITS against the ACC, several posters on tnet have shown up to defend the ACC. Anything negative posted re. the ACC, these posters defend the ACC. Are they employed by the ACC or just trolls? Pretty obvious that they are one or both. Their low pulse must be a plus to get employed by ACC.

I have defended the ACC because I think we are wrong! These contracts were praised up and down by everyone who signed them back in the day including the president o Clemson University..we took money from the ACC ad nauseum which was our money rightfully According to the contract! Other conferences later got better contracts and the savages and us got the red *ss and want MO money so we have to get out...nobody wants to stick to an agreement anymore so we have to make the ACC a villen, slander everyone and spread rumors about something you and I don't know...I think that is wrong..if we determine in court that the ACC has done something illegal and we were just stupid to sign those papers in the first place then so be it...the war against the ACC is our war against us...they have been our competitors and home for a long time! I have never worked for the ACC, am a Clemson graduate and a veteran...sometimes I even think!

You may want to study contract law cases and you will see that signed contracts are deemed null and void everyday by the courts. The fact that one signs a contract does not bind one to that contract if the terms of the contract are violated. That is what FSU/CLEMSON IS alleging in their lawsuits.

By the way, Clemson is not alleging that they never signed the contract. They are alleging two things in their amended lawsuit.
1. When Clemson leaves the ACC and is no longer a member, their media rights leave with them and the ACC/ESPN no longer own the media rights. The lawsuit is asking for declaratory judgment on that issue.
2. The ACC IS SLANDERING Clemson's ability to market their team's media rights to another conference or media outlet by the ACC's false claim that the ACC owns Clemson's media rights until 2036 no matter what Clemson does or goes.Due to the ACC spreading this lie, it is harming Clemson financially and Clemson is suing for punitive damages.
Clemson will prevail in both points. If the ACC does not settle with Clemson out of court, and this ends up being decided by the court, I believe Clemson will prevail and the ACC will end up paying Clemson to leave the ACC due to punitive damages awarded which can be significant.
So , quit harping on Clemson signed the contract and should just shut up. Clemson is not disputing the signing or that the GOR exists. Their claims are about as simple as they can be. FSU's claims are a little more complex. However, the Florida judge just issued a ruling against the ACC which makes it absolutely clear that the FSU lawsuit against the ACC will remain in the Leon County court. The judge lambasted the ACC for "court shopping jurisdiction" which is frowned on by all courts.

You would dare mention slander in the vain of an organization that cannot live up to a contract that they have used and profited from! We signed that deal and have profited for ten years...the green eyed monster has you too!

It seems they are not "living up to a contract that they have used and profited from".

Clemson is claiming the GOR is valid. The slander of title is just dumb. It's not slanderous if it is true. Clemson's case is just crappy.

There is a lot more law dealing with those than you have in your junkyard...I think we have taken money from those deals since 2010 or 2011 and it just so happens that all of the sudden we are shocked to find out (we say we had not seen the contract since we signed it) that we've been cheated by that nasty Ole ACC...if that does not smell like a crock to you then go have your sinuses checked! ACC employees probably can't comment but plenty of idiots can!..I did work for Clemson back in 1970 but never for Swofford and those evil employees!

Again, you talk a lot about something you know nothing about. Your entire premise is based on feelings and emotion. No one is denying the contract was signed and Clemson benefitted from the contract. The argument is if Clemson decided to leave the ACC for another conference to basically double their annual income that they are able to without owing media rights to the ACC. That has been explained to you at least half a dozen time but you still come on here ranting like an old man yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off his lawn.

Law...Statutes of limitations, estoppel, contract law, patent laws, are not exactly emotional issues...none of you have said anything about the law! A judge somewhere, maybe not Florida or SC or even NC will decide this issue or appellate judges somewhere will see this for what it is! FSU and Clemson may be sued by individuals including the Swoffords, ESPN, & possibly advertisers and others whose contract and brands might be hurt by Clemson and theFSWTC leaving hastily! Cans of worms once opened may look like snakes to those with emotions!

Contracts signed by that many folks and resigned multiple times by the same institutions who heap lavish praise on them way past any statute of limitations...spending that money all along with not a whimper...sounds like you've found a real precedent counselor...call the university, you've won their case for them!

they're simply saying it doesn't say what the ACC claims it does. And if that's the case Clemson is not in the wrong.

Espn INTENTIONALY gave the ACC a crap deal because they knew we were desperate. If we hadn't signed it we would have become irrelevant long ago. as far as everyone praising it, what exactly were they supposed to say? "this deal is crap but we have no other choice."?

We were not desperate when we signed...all of you on this website must think that the Clemson lawyers who reviewed it and the university president who praised it are idiots...we only found fault when we needed more money...let's make our greed someone else's fault...petulant children!

It’s not about greed as much as it’s about survival! Do we want to continue to compete with the big boys or do we want to be mediocre? I for one want to compete and win big. Whatever it takes to get our equal share is what we need to do. Just because the ACC use to be good for us doesn’t meant it’s always going to be good for us. Times change and we need to change with them. It’s not 1976.

Using your mindset an employee should never receive a raise or be allowed to look for employment elsewhere once they are employed. Times change and so too must the finances of a deal even after its originally agreed upon. Happens everyday in all walks of life.

Was it not the first major comprehensive deal...how did it just show up as a crap deal...our brilliant attorneys who poured of the pages before Clemson and every other member signed would not have let anyone sign a crap deal...you are not dealing with Wofford...many of these colleges have law schools in house!

A deal is a deal. If you are going to break a deal, you need to have a deal-breaking reason that is actual legal. Clemson and FSU have none.

It is all about ROI for the league

When those contracts were signed for such a long period of time, it was a terrible decision by members of the league to accept. Much like signing players to 10 year contracts when they are 30+ years old makes no sense unless it has worldwide appeal (i.e. Ohtani) then the player never lives up to the contract.
In the case of a league setting such long-term based deals, they lock in all the conference teams to that monetary level no matter the success of certain athletic teams. Clemson won 2 national titles in 3 years, had the entire nation watching every move the football team made. Clemson controlled the conference, but I did not here a peep about this contract being an issue. In my opinion, Clemson dropped the ball IF, big IF, they did not try to renegotiate on behalf of itself and other members in the league. Look at what FSU has done as soon as they have a good season, they file suit. Clemson follows rather strike first several years ago when something might have been changed already.
Long story short, you sign an agreement, then you get what you get. To fuss and whine now is kinda Carolina like, although yes I think Clemson will be well behind the big guys in SEC/B1G until something changes, way behind in revenue.
I trust in Dabo, but Dabo plays by the rules.... and those rules are stacked against him right now

Junk
I’ve been saying there are ACC plants on here for a while now. It is indeed true
Remember what they have said. That the ACC will not negotiate. They also say the ACC is good for us when we know it’s not. Look at the dates they have joined, look at their comments.
Once we leave the ACC they will fly away.
It is beyond the point of no return and they know it. Clemson will never ever stay in the ACC till 2036. There is a reason that everybody in the Clemson administration wants us out. Everybody.

You will get to see soon enough if the SEC or BIG have been as good to us as the ACC...by pulling out we have destroyed profits and rights of other members, sponsors, advertisers etc. ESPN has a potential great case of no fraud exists...If Stanford, Cal, or SMU get harmed they have real lawyers and our taters may be cooked! Even what might be viewed as pure intentions can have grave consequences!
