Arkansas BB Coach Musselmsn

Brad makes $3m.
Musselman will make $2.5 million per season on a five-year contract, dwarfing the $1 million per year he made at Nevada. Musselman will owe Nevada a $1 million buyout to break his contract, which ran through the 2020-21 season, and must forfeit all bonuses earned this season, including his ticket-revenue bonus, which is easily in the six-figure range.
Are we getting our money’s worth?

I do not try to keep up with the logistics of profiting (or the lack thereof) in college sports. However, in my simplistic point of view I would think having people attend games would be fairly important.
Enthusiasm will not happen at Clemson basketball in the next 14 years, if they are similar to the past 14.

Clemson has to put out a good team first

then the fans will follow. That's the deal with being a football school. Whoever is the head coach will have to put out a winner with minimal fan support first. Brownell had it this year with the VT and Miami games being sellouts. He then had to Brown-L it up.

The old men on T-net want to assign blame to someone else which requires them to accept no responsibility and takes zero effort other that whining and attack others on a message board. It’s much like the BLM thing a few years ago

This post is a classic example. Old 2k could not refute my premise so instead of scrolling past accused me of spewing hate and of not being “ok” based on his standards.

Yeah, cause it’s only old men who see 2 Tournaments in 13 years as not a wonderful thing.

white guys, and the failure of old men to take responsibility.
Well, I gotta give it to you - you hit all of Whoopi Goldberg's talking point in basically one sentence. That, my little pumpernickel friend, is quite a mouthful.
And please carry on with your idiocy. Don't let us get in the way of your insistence to whatever lunacy your ego is beholden.
But, if at some point in your ranting, you'd like to come out of your Mad Hatter world and join the lucid, please understand that it is exactly my willingness to both accept responsibility and then take that action necessary to fix things that got me where I am today.
There's quite a few other very responsible men (and women) on this site as well, and in the society around you. A lot of what you were lucky enough to inherit as a Free World came about because of them, and I wouldn't be so blithe or arrogant as you to totally discount their contributions, even in something as menial as waking up under no threat of harm or with a full belly or with a nationally renowned football team to follow.
Forrest Gump got it right. Not only did he advise you with "Stupid is as stupid does", but he also quite literally evidenced that running away from truth never fixed anything. You and your sadly demented brethren would do well to take heed. At some point, there's not going to be anyone left who'll stick out a helping hand, or even offer to say "Grace" together.
The truth is that "Brad is an idiot". Either come to grips with it, or be part of the problem.

It’s wild that you got that out of my post. You took several independent comments and wrapped them together to fit your narrative. This is no better than the other two who simply attacker the messenger because they had nothing to say about the actual topic. Might even be worse as at least they did not try to invent a false narrative.
I do give you a A for effort but an F on truthfulness

at Clemson. He's never delivered the Coaching product though - 2 NCAA invites with his own players over 12 years.
That ain't "earning it", that's surviving, at best.

Also it’s silly at best to say Brad is an idiot. He is a decent coach. He is obviously not a coach like Rick Barnes who can compete with a slab five but I doubt Musselman is either. Arkansas has big donors who bought a nice team. Could Brad win with that level of talent? We will never know as that is not our style.

you do NOT block out and rebound, you are going to lose MANY winnable games. 40 missed shots and ONLY 8 offensive rebounds....Who can win doing that?

The OP was comparing CBB with Musselman with the premise that Brad makes more so we are getting a bad deal. While musselman may be a better coach, his team looks nothing like our team due in large part to NIL. I also watched a well coached Furman team get destroyed yesterday due to a talent discrepancy.
As to your point, perhaps we are not well coached and the team with the most money does not always win. IDC if we change coaches as CBB had his opportunity but let’s not kid ourselves into thinking a new coach will bring the results we want without other changes

The thing is we don't know if anything will change with a new coach, because they wont try anyone else and the apologists won't help force the issue. How do you know for certain nothing will change? Losing to St Mary's School for the Deaf and Blind in the NIT as a 1 seed was enough I guess. I wish I could go to work, not accomplish what my employers goals are for 14 years, and not only keep my job but get multiple raises over the years.

Exactly right Spud! Hearing the NIL complaints is like hearing a football coach complain because his team lost due to being too cold or too rainy.
The weather conditions are the same on both sidelines. We heard the same NIL tripe about the NIL and football and it hasn’t deterred Dabo.

Basketball has a long history of pay for play. It’s now legal. Thinking that NIL has nothing to do with the success at Arkansas is odd thinking

Arkansas has signed 1 5* prospect from 2010-2021. It was Bobby Portia, who was a local guy. He grew up in Little Rock.
Last class Arkansas signed 3 5* guys. This upcoming class, that have 2 guys already committed that are 5*.
Why do you think there has been such a big change in recruiting success with Arkansas? It definitely doesn't have to do with NIL. It's all the coach. If we simply had their quality of coach, we would be fending off 5* wanting to play basketball for Clemson.

and even little ol' Virginia, and... and...
Yep, it was all just NIL....

He is impressive and quickly brought Arkansas back to national attention. Arkansas has a rich successful basketball history.
So he had a boatload more to work with and from.

Quit the fussing Brad should've been fired a while ago. 13 years is more than enough. You've got to believe you can be . Take that 40milc n go get a great recruiting coach. Let's talk afterwards!
