OT: Road hazard coverage on a new car...worth it?

Normally I would say absolutely not, but these new run-flat tires are crazy expensive and most tire stores will not plug or patch them for a nail. Also, it doesn't take much to damage or ruin these new low profile rims.
You might still lose money on the coverage, but it could be worth it just for the peace of mind. So much crap in the road...If you're covered, you don't have to worry.
T-net thoughts?

What city? I drove around Charlotte for 30 years several hours a day and rarely got a flat. I can't see how that could pay off.

You can always replace the run flats with standard tires. Butttt, you should replace all 4 at the same time.

Why? Just pay for roadside assistance.

I could pay for a lot of repairs with the money I have saved by NOT buying extended warranty or other roadside hazard insurance. My guess is that when something happens, the first thing the insurance company will do is see how they can NOT cover it ...... kind of like health insurance.

That use to be the case in the past, but repairs are so outrageous now a factory extended warranty is probably worth it. One mid level repair pretty much covers the cost. I certainly wouldn’t buy an aftermarket warranty though.

I may be wrong, but if repairs are outrageous, I am also guessing that the extended warranties are also outrageous. I have had three new Tahoes since 2002 and never had one in the shop for anything except new brake pads and rotors. So maybe I'm just lucky.

I have no idea what aftermarket warranties cost but the factory extended ones are not bad. This is of course considering you keep the vehicle for a long period of time. If not then no, it’s not worth it.

I'll check it out when I buy a new one, but I put so many miles on fast, that my usual warranties expire in a short period of time.
