I think Whitehurst ,Dantzler, and Fuller could have. I exclude Homer just because he won one anyway.

I should have added Boyd as well.

No way on Boyd. Not disrespecting him, but he had big game chokes.

Trying to stay as apples to apples as possible in terms of era
I think Whitehurst is a good choice but Cullen Harper was pretty efficient but with out the same talent around him as the 16 and18 teams
I think he would lose in 16 but win in 18
Our OL and DL in 18 was dominate and that makes any QB look good

That's what I was getting at. With that amount of talent you just needed someone efficient.

I have strong doubts anyone listed****

I think Watson is the only one for 2016

For 2018, I think there may be several others. Coot Killer Whitehurst woukd have had a good shot. Maybe Tajh.

But for 2016 the magician that was DW4 was needed.

I did not say that explicitly but that was my thoughts too
Watson demanded we win not just from himself but those around him.
We were good enough to just thump Bama but did not really “know” it at that time in the program- Watson showed the way.
For 18 we Knew and we were stacked, not taking away from Trevor but the 18 team needed a manager more than a leader compared to the 16 team.

I am not talking talent just mental aspects

That's why I would throw Chase Brice in the mix for 2018 TigerBean

I don't think some people realize how good those two were. They are so much better than any quarterbacks Clemson has ever had its not even close. We could spend the next 50 years waiting on someone else to be that good, and it may not happen. Hopefully, it will, but those guys were unreal.

They are two of the all time best college qb's for any school.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and the thing is we have had some really good qbs.....a long

list of them, ....have you ever seen a list of great coot qbs? you have connor ...and then who else. Not many or not any. because none of them were winners, certainly for not more than a season...

2016? No one. That took every ounce of force of will from DW4 to make that happen. I think Trevor could have done it, but that's it.

2018? That team was magnificent, maybe a couple of others could have made that happen.

No one except for Watson wins in 2016….. He played his best games on the biggest stage. I love Trevor and I want to say he would too but sometimes he didn’t play all that well in the big games. 2018 team Trevor and DW4 obviously…... Tajh Boyd yes. Clipboard Jesus maybe. I don’t think Woody could have just b/c I think if Kelly couldn’t do it in 17 I don’t think Woody does it in 18. The reason I say that is b/c you could make an argument that with Trevor or DW4 on the 17 team would possibly be better than the 18 team. Just my 2 cents

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I dunno, maybe none

I think you might be underestimating just how good those guys were.
