Should we be worried about softball

I know it is early in the season & teams are still trying to find their way, but that is already 2 losses to inferior, unranked teams already. We have played 2 bottom dwelling SEC teams & lost both games. I know the SEC is good & deep in softball but Missouri & Miss St are not some of their top teams. I am a little concerned with our hitting & lack luster defense. I hope high expectations coming into the season are not creating some pressure & tight play.

Well anytime we lose in anything I am concerned to be honest. More so when I believe we are under performing. I have not gotten to watch them unfortunately, but there will definitely be some folks on here that may let us know their thoughts on or if anything may be amiss.

Hopefully this will be the season that the Tigers peak towards the end of the season and win a program first ACC Tournament Championship and then make it to the College World Series another program first for the first time

My concern is what have we done to make huge impacts to the program beyond Cagle. The last 2 seasons we have been a 1 Woman show come post season. Teams can simply pitch to her and don't worry about anyone else or walk her because they don't worry about anyone else. It's gonna take more than her or it will be the same as before. That's my fear.

Maybe 2 years ago but last year we had a bunch of contributors besides Valerie. Vieira, Clark, Logoleo, Miklesh, Hyatt, and Thompson all played big roles.
Or maybe the sky is falling on the softball stadium too. It is right across the road from DV after all.

I can't get it to post here, but take a look at the players that you mentioned stats against top 25 competition last season. If my quick math is correct they hit a combined .200ish against what I would call quality competition.(ranked teams). I mean I get it, but the original post was about concern fir this season. Only orange colored glasses have no concern with this team. Looks a lot like last year. Now making a super is a great accomplishment, but if you're looking for OK city, you may be disappointed again.

My mistake, Missouri is ranked in top 25. But, still Clemson should be the better team.

They run this conference think they’re worried? Noles play #2 Tennessee tomorrow. Looks like the ACC is the SEC’s Beeoch.

That freshman that pitched for Tenn last year against us looked to be the real deal! Not surprised at their ranking.

Unlike you I care about all Clemson sports. Whether men or women. Might be nice to not be so narrow minded.

It’s early but the replacements for Miklesh, Jacobson, and Davenport haven’t been producing in the field or at bat, so I think the team talent wise may be a step back until or unless the freshman start playing better. Left side of the infield is going to be a problem defensively. Just not making the routine plays that cost us. Pitching is not looking as good as last season. Hopefully McCubbin and Duncan pick it up. I’m ready to conclude Thompson and Spencer have hit their ceiling. Bottomline, Rittman hasn’t recruited enough talented replacements and the portal is a hit and miss deal. Worked last year, but I have my doubts about the transfers this year. Again, it’s early so there’s time for Rittman to find answers.

Dude just shut up…
People care about softball especially in the south. It’s the fastest growing sport around right now.
If you don’t like it or don’t care that’s fine but don’t come on here with that bs.
We pull for Clemson regardless of the sport so if you’re just a bandwagon football fan then you can see your way right on off the bus bc we don’t want or need you.
