Weird how DJs and Cades

Most recent comments are about the same as far as being able to play their game and being free. Really think Watsons/Lawerence abilities got into Streeters head and he thought he could “fix” any QB into being like those two. Regardless of your opinions on Cades spring game saw a guy wanting to make plays and not just going through the motions. Last two years felt almost robotic for everyone, haven’t seen that this year there’s a lot more smiles.

What if Streeter was the O-Coordinator with DW4 and TL16, and Tony was the OC with DJU? Just something I've wondered about.

I don’t think it was just Streeter. I think it started with Elliot and Scott falling in love with the back shoulder sideline throw and sideline 50/50s. Deshaun and Trevor were great at them. Look at the receivers we had and went after during that time. They were tailor made for that game. The problem was that became the offense and you no longer had NFL level QB play and not much for a plan b.

That’s what it seems like, nothing evolved as the talent changed kept trying to force a square peg into a round hole. That’s why I’m excited about this year Garrets been given full reign and you can tell it by the interviews if offensive staff

creativity & tempo after CM left. That was passed down to Streeter.
They knew that our skill position talent was far superior to the rest of our regular season opponents they didn't need it. I think 2020-2022 you see what the waning creativity/tempo combined with waning skill talent from the 2015-2018 years gets you.

I like Streeter a lot, but I personally think he did more harm than good from a mental standpoint in his QB coaching. Trying to "fix" issues ended up creating others. Could you imagine him "fixing" a qb like patrick mahomes who has an un orthodox playing style but is amazing in his own right? No two qbs are alike and the days of creating qbs to play a certain way are long gone. I think Streeter leaving the program holds WAY more positives than negatives

Shout out for the Mahomes comparison. Because, you are 100% correct. If you have him out there thinking like you; then he is just a robot out there following "a program". Instead of a player who can improvise and "make plays"!
Because, the best play callers will tell you, sometimes it doesn't work the way it was designed "in football"! Glad Bridges and buildings do. But, in football, the other team has been coached up to stop what you want to do: "at which point - you have to be capable of making A play despite of good defense"!
Great call out!

I read this thread after seeing DJ's comments about his "new" offense being more NFL-like. Attempt all the NFL-like deep balls you like, but if you bounce a pass to a wide open receiver on a 10-yard out (while under no pressure AT ALL), you won't have to worry about the NFL.

I’m eager to see how they both do this season
I’ll say this - knowing the route the WR is going to run before the snap will help DJ a lot (and Cade)
