Where will we be by then?
American Athletic Conference?
B1G has only schools which are members of the AAC (American Association of Universities). Clemson isn’t in that membership; simply paying membership dues is not how a school gets admitted.
SEC is our only high profile, big payout conference option. No disrespect meant to our team, but I don’t think the SEC needs us.

On the bright side, if we are still in the ACC we'll have some good road trips to Cali and Dallas in a couple of years.

Longest running rivalries. Only SCAR have we played more than NCST (91 times) and GT (90 times). Does that not resonate with you?

When Clemson and FSU leave
Only having to go to California twice in 7 years isn't awful - once to each school. I don't think we'll stay in the conference long enough to see the road trips to Cal, SMU, and Stanford - but I'll definitely make those trips if they happen.
They actually gave us a bit of a cupcake schedule for next year outside of FSU (but we also have Georgia next year).

From the National picture with this pairing… nice work by the ACC as usual! Otherwise, not a big deal to me with this arrangement. I would prefer to have GT as a regular just because of the proximity.

Dear God,
Please deliver us from this embarrassing and pathetic conference that NCST was wooed into voting for by some evil fairy magic.
I promise not to ask for the foreclosing of the garbage dump stadium in cootlumbia again.

I believe up to three matchups per school were protected if it was at the request of both schools. In the case of NC State and GT, it sounds as though either Clemson or those schools (or both) didn’t deem the matchups worthy as protecting. Kind of strange.

GT with no protected games probably doesn't give 2 cents. May be thinking the B1G is going to strike in the middle of SEC country and want the Atlanta market and come for them in the future.

Why would the Big10 or the SEC want Clemson---splitting up $$$ with a very weak football program at present?? We offer nothing to either Conference at Present. Remember that memory lane is a dead end street.

They care about TV revenue, and expanding in the new markets, they do not give a #### if Clemson football team is good or not.

All B1G schools are members of the AAC (American Association of Universities. Numerous ACC schools are also members of the AAC, but we are not a member.
Unless our academics improve to be deemed ‘worthy’ of AAC status, we won’t achieve AAC membership, and therefore B1G is not a destination option for Clemson.

It's AAU isn't it? Like I posted above if the B1G wants the south no bigger place than Atlanta (GT). That would really tick the SEC off with the B1G flag in the middle of their territory.

Absolutely shocked the ACC didn’t screw us for voting against them and making us play in Cali next year. Hopefully we can turn the program around and get the heck out of the ACC before 2026 comes around.

My biggest disappointment is losing GA Tech annually. They’ve been down for awhile ( and we are now), but there is slot of history, tradition, and proximity in playing the Jackets.

How is it we play FSU every season but some ACC teams don’t play us or FSU? Seems like we’re gonna end up with some years where 3 or 4 teams have the same record or two teams with the best records but weak schedules play for the conference championship. Thankfully the playoff is expanding at least…
