UGA was better

Not by a lot. Be fair. For a pick six to decide the game by being the ONLY td in a college game, it wasn't the vast gap people are saying.
If Clemson's offense is terrible, what is UGAs? Total yards: Clemson 180 UGA 256 Points: 3 each
Their dude Davis was as advertised. What do you do when they are sending 3 and 4 guys, dropping the rest? There was nobody open when DJ had time; often he didn't have time.
I agree the o line took a beating. I agree that DJ running when he had some lanes would have helped....some.
The bigger issue I saw early was that he would only look to Ross. The offense "opened up" once DJ started hitting his other receivers. Unfortunately, it seemed to take the pick 6 for that to click.
What I saw was our D did exactly what UGAs D did. They had no answers either. Unfortunately, they had the pick 6 and took the game.
Always have to improve, but come on y'all.. our coaches are awesome, the team will respond. No resting on laurels, but 2 national championship, playing in 4 nattys, tells me these guys know what's up.
UGA barely edged us last night.. but see above. They are still trying to be us.
The pressure is now on to win out. We'll see what happens with the landscape come playoff time. If we are lights out from here, with last night being the only loss, we have a stellar chance to make our 7th(?) straight CFP.
GO TIGERS!!

We were on the verge of FG range with the pick six. 10 point swing right in a game with a 7 point loss.

Keep in mind UGA missed a FG and took a knee near our goal line at the end of the game . . .

D1 O-line and we have a North Greenville O-line. Other than that, we are very comparble teams, with indiscernable difference talent or performance-wise. That concerns me going forward; that and the fact that it's gotten this bad. Still, you're right; to keep it in perspective, we lost an ugly, really close game to the # 5 team in the country.

Good post. I agree with almost everything you said. I do take a little issue with the “Georgia barely edged us, we were a play away” analysis. While that is how it turned out, we have to keep in mind GA missed a very short FG and probably could’ve punched that last drive in for a TD if they chose to. That’s somewhere around a 14-3 to 20-3 game and that is how much better they felt than us, at least to me. They controlled the game even though our D played great. They could run and pass on us at times. I am very optimistic for the rest of the season though, but to be counting this game as a tie minus the pick six is just a bit too glass half full for the felling I got. It’s ok though. We always improve drastically as the season progresses. I was encouraged we seemed to move the ball better at the end when Dixon came in.

Best way I heard it put was UGA looked like an offense trying to figure out a great defense. We looked like an offense overwhelmed by a great defense.

UGA didn’t need to do anything on offense after the INT

They knew our offense was hot garbage and just played enough to keep the sticks moving and chew up clock. Winning football games is a math exercise, not art.

Sorry ,too Polyanna for me son… It’s time for major changes in the offensive structure at Clemson and Dabo better get on it fast as we are offensively regressing. The O line has been wiped out … the QB is after all the hype, pitiful ,and no decent running back is coming to Clemson until we have an offensive line… For all the big dollars we should be hiring from the NFL and start playing tough hardnose football! If I were the defense I’d be more than angry today”family “ or not it was a pitiful display again from all the offense!
