While we were experiencing technical difficulties over the weekend, Clemson landed a verbal commitment from Richard Jackson. We had indicated early last week that a decision had been made. Clemson told Brad Upson a week ago they would not be offering, which indicated a commitment from Jackson was looming.
Jackson did not reach an official decision until Saturday. "Clemson is what I have known my whole life. It will be a good place for me to go to school and play football. It was a tough decision, because it was a big honor to have offers from Georgia and LSU, two schools that have competed for and won National Championships in the last few years." Jackson chose Clemson over LSU and Georgia. Texas A&M and Southern Cal expressed heavy interest, but in the end Jackson chose to be a Tiger. Jackson is considered a firm commitment. "My recruiting is finished. I will enroll at Clemson. I look forward to challenge of learning and competing at the college level." We are currently working with Jackson to set up an interview on the "Overdrive" sometime this week. Stay tuned as we will post the time, when the interview is arranged.
