Know it way too EARLY but want to know...

Sep 11, 2023, 3:31 PM

but if the Tigers beat FSU, and then the Noles go on an beat Duke and all three of the Tigers, FSU, and Duke win the rest of their ACC games who wins the tiebreaker for the two teams to get to the ACC championship. Of any case of three teams in that situation? It could play out that way, but again it is way too early...

The conference revealed its tiebreaker policy for the upcoming season Wednesday morning. The policy for a 2-team tie is as follows:

Head-to-head.
Win percentage against common opponents.
Win percentage against common opponents based on order of finish.
Combined win percentage of conference opponents.
The team with the highest analytical rating per SportSource analytics following conclusion of regular season games.
Chosen by a draw.
And here is the tiebreaker policy for 3 or more teams:

Combined head-to-head win percentage among tied teams if all are common opponents.
If all teams are not common opponents, the tied team that defeated each of the other tied teams.
Win percentage against common opponents.
Win percentage against common opponents based on order of finish.
Combined win percentage of conference opponents.
The team with the highest analytical rating per SportSource analytics following conclusion of regular season games.
Chosen by a draw.

Could you imagine the TNET boards if it came down to “chosen by a draw”?

ACC would call fouls on Clemson and FSU

Duke has to lose more games than Clemson

Sep 11, 2023, 3:34 PM

head to head is first tie-break. Same conference record, they win tie-break

yeah, that was my point. three teams tied at 7-1 and each team beat one of the other three, but lost once. It was explained in the previous posts.

Tie breaker always goes to UNC. Especially after they didn't get the transfer wr for this seasonand Mack had to whine about it.
