News leaking on Twitter that DW4 is a Falcon...

Just working out the details, including trading Matt Ryan.
Hope DW4 can be patient, cause the Falcons are gonna suck for a few years until they can get the pieces in place.
Crazy.

Thomas Dimitroff was an unmitigated disaster...

Everything he did was wrong. One bad move after another.
Extending Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones
Steven Jackson, Ray Edwards, Tak McKinley, Isaiah Oliver, Duke Riley, Jalen Collins, Rashede Hageman, Peter Konz, Corey Peters, Peria Jerry. The list goes on and on. Terrible draft picks.

Jackson and Edwards were trades, not picks.

That Matty Ice contract…

The falcons should be able to sue dimitroff for professional malpractice for that thing alone. The current staff has mitigated it some, but originally they were gonna take a $49M cap hit in ‘22 for that one player alone.

Geech it’s a toss up with OBrien imo at the Texans… unreal what he did to that team in just a few years.

I really would have thought Pittsburgh would have tried to get him, but never heard it mentioned.

I don't know how the Falcons did it but today, March 18, Ryan was supposed to get a roster bonus of $7.5 M but the date was changed to next Tuesday, March 22. Rumors also have it, there is a trade for Ryan working with Indianapolis which will get ATL one of their 1st round picks they have to give up for DW4. Another rumored part of the trade for DW4, is that ATL will have to give up AJ Terrell. Crazy stuff happening.

weren't the rumors for the panthers to have to give up

2 to 3 of their best players plus 3 first round picks. My question is were those rumors just rumors or is Atlanta about to give up 3 1st rounders, terrell, pitts, grady jarrett.

I think Watson is great but decimating my current roster of the best talent and giving up first rounders would be organizational suicide imo.

The best receiver they had has been suspended for a year so they have that going for them.

Watson consistently played behind the worst O-Line in the League while playing in Houston so he is used to running for his life. Maybe the Falcons can mortgage something and convince the Cardinals to trade Nuk to Atlanta so they can afford to pay Kyler (you know, kinda like Houston did to pay Deshaun).

Not a good move for Watson if he goes....The Falcons will send every bit of equity they have into rebuilding their future to obtain Watson...It will further push that franchise back into disarray. Falcons are in financial trouble and Watson's contract will contribute to that....I am kind of scratching my head as to why he wants to go there...He will literally be going from Houston to a worse Houston....I get wanting to play in front of family and friends...but come on man

Exactly. It's why I said yesterday the Saints would be better of the 2 choices.

There's a reason Sean Payton decided to walk away. Everyone has wondered for years how the Saints kept kicking the can down the road. It'll come due soon.

The Texans don't hold all the cards. DW4 has already put the kibosh on moving to Cleveland. Atlanta should leverage this. I see them giving up the following 1) Their #8 first round pick this year. 2) A couple of second or third round picks this year. 3) A protected top 5 first round pick* next year or a first round pick they get for Ryan.
*If the NFL sidelines DW4 for 6-8 games this could be to their benefit. The Falcons have the tough NFC west on their schedule next year. I could see them going 0-8 out of conference. This should put them in the top 5 for the 2023 draft. They should sign the cheapest NFL QB they can find and build an O-line through the draft and after clearing some cap space.
