protecting them from NCAA enforcement, helping athletes get paid as soon as they sign with an instate school as opposed to waiting for 6 to 10 months if they sign with an out of state school. This is definitely not the original intent of NIL where athletes profit after they make a name for themselves.
But it's a win-win for the schools and the states with recruiting and tax revenue. Guess other states have done this or are in the process, especially states with SEC schools always on the cutting edge of recruiting advantages, legal or not. Not sure how they can be "protected" from NCAA enforcement.
