Another ACC exit tweet….

This is from a journalist with multiple sources, claims 3 separate FSU sources, 1 Clemson source, and one VT source. Do with it what you will but Twitter with numerous posts about FSU and Clemson to B1G to be announced before this football season starts. Most with no real insight, of course.

I could be wrong but I swear about a decade ago Greg Swaim, was one of the ones claiming Clemson and FSU, to the Big 12 was a done deal.

I can neither confirm or deny that. My memory bank has a much earlier expiration date.

Classes with Greg Sankey's accountant's ex-wife is a more reliable source than that guy.

No, he reported things are happening. In May he reported tha5 Syracuse became the 8th school ready to part ways which could break the GOR. 8 teams aren’t going to the same conference. So there are careful, back channel negotiations that would have to take place between many, many parties. I’m sure you’d love Clemson to stay in an ever degrading ACC so you can brag about Brownell conference victories so I understand your concern.

Isn’t this the guy David Hood interviewed back in February or March when Swaim claimed there are 7 or 8 ACC teams joining up to break up the GoR?

I’m not sure this part still isn’t in play…

It seems like the most plausible solution to me. Provided at least 8 teams can find a suitable home in either the B1G, SEC or Big 12.

I thought according to his sources we were joining the Big 12

What happened to that prediction?
90 percent of what comes out of his “sources” is hot garbage.

Heard someone put it this way the other day and it hit home. Imagine if Clemson or FSU ups and wins a Natty in the next 13 years. Say they win it on Jan 11 then on Jan 12 they wake up and are handed their yearly check from the ACC for half of what Vandy or Rutgers get for having a losing season and doing absolutely NOTHING! Imagine how that will feel!

Precisely! No matter what or how, we must leave the ACC…

1. We can do that by facilitating ACC dissolution somehow.
2. We can do that by fighting GOR payout in courts and getting help from the conf we move to.
3. We can do that by giving ourselves our own death penalty and discontinue football.
Pick your poison.
There is no reason Clemson or FSU, who has invested billions building up a football program and facilities like we have for decades be required to stay in a deal that takes advantage of that investment for Pennies on the dollar. I would rather burn the whole #### house down first!
