I keep reading posts about leaving the ACC and I'm certainly not opposed to that idea. Just curious why you would think Clemson would receive better treatment in a new conference (i.e. officiating)? You think being the new kid on the block would help?
1. I can't think of any other conference that is as tied to the hip of their member schools as the ACC is to tobacco row. Not saying everything would be dandy in another conference but it would certainly be run by more business minded competent people
2. The ACC can't compete financially and it will only get worse
3. With the new 12 team football playoff, unless you are a conference champ , those other slots available are going to go to teams that are seen as being in a stronger overall conference. The ACC will be lucky to get in one additional team where the SEC and the Big 10 will be getting 2 or 3 in
A lot of this stuff isn't really effecting us at the moment but you can see where it's all headed and the ACC will be the odd man out
Appreciate your honest assessment and response. Totally agree on 2 and 3. I also agree on point 1 as it relates to tobacco row. It will be interesting to see if that perception of bias continues to grow with the heightened noise of dissatisfaction by certain ACC members. Especially by those who voted against the most recent expansion. If this is the case, I would imagine FSU will be a good barometer. I just don't know enough about other conferences (B1G or SEC) and their members' perception regarding school favoritism within their respective conferences.
