I bought a Weber Spirit 3 burner 12 years ago. But the wheels no longer rolled and the front screen thing rusted out (even with a cover) and the piece that holds the tank broke.

Had a derby party today with about 20 adults and kids here…..so about 40 in total.

I went this morning and got the same, but new version Weber 3 burner Spirit and my gosh I swear it’s the best for the money. Not seasoned and not at all ready to cook on it…..heat was even, burgers and chicken came out great and it was a win.

It was $449.99 with 20% with a HD app coupon.

Good times.

Just checked and mine now costs $1,500. I paid like $800 and change, and that was with assembly for like $50 or something. This was maybe 6-7 years ago.

Granted it is top notch quality, and I have yet to replace anything important on it, but dang. I had a Ducane for about 15 years before the Weber, and although it had burners and other parts fail, they were cheap to buy and easy to replace. I'd still have that Ducane if it hadn't gotten hard to find parts. For less than $200 you could totally refurbish the thing, burners, knobs, grate, heat shields, gas line, etc.

Were still made in Columbia.

Straight downhill when they sold the name and became a glorified Walmart brand.

Granted the quality was below the current Weber I have, but heck, parts were cheap and nothing took more than 5-10 minutes to fix. Was very serviceable. Had mine from 2003ish until like 2018ish when I got the Webber. Bet I replaced 5 sets of burners, the grate, the gas lines, the knobs, the heat shields probably 5 times........but it was all cheap parts, and easy labor.

I've looked into replacing a Weber burner and it's NO EASY TASK. Nor cheap. Luckily they've lasted far longer than the Ducane burners.
