holding off on letting Grisham go until he has signed this incoming class signed. I really don't think that is the case if Jeff Scott was going to be his replacement bc, if our WR commits knew anything at all about Clemson, they know that Jeff was probably one of the best WR coaches in the country before he left for a HC-ing job.

With no news about Grisham before now, I believe that Dabo has decided to give him another season bc of the injury bug that has plagued our top WRs the past couple of years. But I believe that if Grisham was any good as a WR coach, he should have had those young guys and the ones that been around for a while able to catch a ball that's hitting them in the hands, and that has been our biggest problem with our WRs the past two seasons!!! Grisham will be our WRs coach for at least another season, and that is a painful thought for me anyway!!!

You expect 18 year olds to know about Jeff Scott? Recruiting isn’t just hey I’ll be your coach and here’s my credentials. It’s about building a relationship, usually, over the course of several years. If the person who built that relationship with you is fired, you aren’t going to just go “well they hired back the guy who left in 2019 and he’s supposed to be good. I guess we’re cool.” Especially, if you’re 17 or 18.

I think it’s more about the fact that he’s recruiting coordinator, rather than who we’re bringing in. I’m sure there’s a lot that goes into it that he doesn’t want to throw on a person with less than a month to go. Probably gives him through the bowl game to see if there’s any improvement as well.

To me, the obvious question is "Why in the world was an unproven young coach also given the job of Recruiting Coordinator" which might just be the 2nd most important job in the building. Bad decision!

Dabo was our top recruiter back when he was the WR coach under Bowden. When he got fired I was more worried about Dabo being gone for that very reason. He seemed to be the guy out talking to parents in Lot 5 after the games. Figured recruiting would tank. Never ever thought he would end up with the head coaching job or even stay at Clemson when Tommy left. Tommy knew he had a good one in Dabo Swinney.
