going to stay with Taylor in LF and batting #2? Will he keep trying to let him play his way out of this terrible slump, move him down in the order, or sub a younger guy? What say y'all??

I don't know if sitting him will help. Moving him down in the order may though.

He had bumped to 6th when he had his breakout game. Interesting it was discussion on the telecast about it. He would be sitting or bumped down by now but he's getting on base at close to a. 400 clip. Something redic like that.
That said, I'm sure Cam being in a mini slump isn't helping him. I think he's pressing. In HS, he had a pretty swing plain. Looked a lot more comfortable than he does now. He had good command of the plate and would often go with the pitch and could spray it. Sure wish he'd have stayed with baseball from the beginning. I think he's lost that really quick burst of speed. Doubt the numbers say that, but just seems like it to me.

This is true, although he was knocked down in the lineup when he hit those HRs. I think he was sixth.

Think between Bakich and the staff he has, they can make whatever decision they think is best, pretty sure they know what they’re doing. Signed #3 in the country!

#1 team according to RPI.
Law of averages says he’ll come up. He’s a first round type talent. Slumps are as old as baseball itself.

I think the OP was just asking a reasonable question, not seeking an insurrection. Lay down the torches and realize it’s a Clemson sports forum. Clemsons H.C. (Baseball anyway) is safe in his position and doesn’t need your protection.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Taylor isn’t in the #6 spot this weekend to answer your question

Yeah, I know wild hogg understands and appreciates everything the staff has done. Also realizes they know better than anyone. But it's a legit question, and one I'm sure the coaches have discussed. That said, it's nothing wrong with talking baseball. I like it too. Just like football, softball, or basketball.

Some folks have an unhealthy phobia about fans being fans or they are ex cheerleaders. Part of the fun of being a fan is being a couch tater coach who tries to outsmart the coaches to help the team. Maybe they are just ex cheerleaders whose job was to cheer the team on w/o seeing any of the game. Ever notice how cheerleaders never watch the game. They just focus on cheerleading.

Don't think Bakich has done quite enough yet to say he's beyond reproach. He made some very questionable personnel calls last season (especially towards the end) and has made a couple of head scratchers on the mound this season that we have been able to overcome
It's early in the season and as glad as I am to see the Tigers ranked #3, there's a lot of ball left to play

It might take time.
I started to bad mouth Grice last year (to myself until he hit his 1st HR against Duke last year...) and he ended up being The key to a fantastic winning streak and ACC tournament Championship.
Will moving Taylor help? I think moving him in the batting order would benefit. Maybe 6th or 7th. I don't know, I'm just a spectator. Keep him in left field though.

Tbh Will is still getting ON BASE. To me that’s the biggie. He’s not driving in runs but he’s getting on base for Wright, Mathes and Obertop to drive in runs. Can’t hurt to move him down. If Nawrocki was healthy he would be in the 2 hole for me. Taylor would be 6th. For now

He's been still getting on base....the hits will come and he's a good Left fielder. I trust Bakich will do what's best.

Something else to consider is that while Will is in a slump hitting, he still draws a ton of walks (2nd on team) and still hits for power with 5 bombs (2nd on the team). He is still an effective hitter with his low average and should absolutely stay in the lineup and will only up his average as the season goes on.

It’s still early in the season but from what I’ve seen, you could reverse the batting order and probably not miss a beat. Dropping Taylor down last time helped, but as someone mentioned, Cannarella in a mini slump is not helping him. Never would have thought we would take 2 games from Duke without Cam in the mix. But it happened. That’s why I’m not worried. it’s a beautiful day….”Let’s play two.”
Go Tigers.

It’s pretty wild to have a lineup where everyone is capable of hitting a home run and there are no players that are easy outs for the other team. Excited for how some of the freshmen have already stepped up on this team.
Go Tigers!
