I strongly suspect there's some tension at ESPN around their coverage of Clemson and FSU right now. On one hand, they don't want to "promote" the Clemson and FSU brands. On the other hand, they need to be very, very careful not to use their platform to intentionally damage the Clemson and FSU brands.

They're in quite the pickle.

It could be interesting to see the DOJ's Antitrust Division open an investigation into ESPN's monopolistic enterprises and its negative impacts across amateur sports. It'd be a shame if a Republican congressman from Florida that's on the subcommittee were to open up a discussion about that.

That may happen in a federal lawsuit filed by the Fl. AG alledging just that and seeking punitive damages.

It's a good thing that both FSU and Clemson have brought separate suits against the ACC. It's a bonus that the State of Florida has gotten into it.

All of this will help speed up settlements and help us get out.

I find the idea of a agreement you are bound to but can't see ludicrous. Did a former siding or used car salesman go to ESPN and negotiate this? Who at these schools signed up for this and what were they on?
