Snowball - that’s how good Clemson teams have matured throughout the season

Sep 11, 2022, 10:51 AM

Look back at ‘16 and ‘18. Slow starts. Lots of mistakes. But that allows for details to be fixed. This is still college football not professional (yet). From a development perspective, the Furman game was probably a good thing. Instead of covering up issues with a superior roster, a few of the details manifested and can be fixed moving forward. DJ played well enough to gain some confidence. The D played poorly enough to be coached up.

Silver lining - hopefully this team continues to snowball and by the end of the season will be an avalanche.

Twice as many wins compared to this time last year. The real stat that matters. Plenty to be positive about!

The difference is we had Venables, Scott, and Elliot doing most of the fixing. The jury is still out on this staff making the right adjustments but hopefully, they get it right.

To a large point I agree, and we got another game next week to “figure it out” so to speak before Wake/NCST.

We also are 2-0. A lot of teams aren’t. Even ugly wins are wins at this point. Plus this team came off a late Monday night game to play Furman at home on a rainy day misty day.

If they look bad after rest and a full practice week under the lights next weekend you can start to sound the alarm. As it stands this team hasn’t lost at home in 35 games, and they have the longest winning streak in the country.

Let’s celebrate that for a bit. It’s as much about the journey as it is the destination.
