Stats on the Oklahoma laet season run

Dec 10, 2015, 1:25 PM

These stats are not to try to say we'll destroy OU, they're a good team (I think second best), but I think they're interesting.

Since their loss to Texas, they've played seven games and put up outstanding offensive numbers. I was curious about the opponents defensive numbers and here's what I found (per current NCAA Football Stats)

Run Defense Rank (out of 127 Teams)

Kansas State - #55
Texas Tech - #125
Kansas - #124
Iowa State - #86
Baylor - #52
TCU - #80
Oklahoma State - #83

Pass Defense Rank (out of 127 Teams)

Kansas State - #119
Texas Tech - #113
Kansas - #124
Iowa State - #112
Baylor - #76
TCU - #50
Oklahoma State - #91

Total Defense Rank (out of 127 Teams)

Kansas State - #100
Texas Tech - #126
Kansas - #127
Iowa State - #108
Baylor - #59
TCU - #66
Oklahoma State - #95

Averages are - Run D - #86, Pass D - #98 and Total D - #97

Compare this to Clemson - Run D - #23, Pass D - #5 and Total D - #7

I realize that their conference is a good offensive league, but I don't think that will explain away the differences in what they will face when we get them on the field.

My intent was not to cherry pick the last games, it was just something I was curious about.

If we play good football and don't turn it over, we'll get another game.

Go Tigers

Thanks for posting John. I've watched OU over the last 3 or 4 games they played and I'm not too impressed with their overall D. A rested Tiger defense definitely has the advantage.

Tell that to an oklahomo and here's what

you'll get:

If Clemson had to play Big12 offenses, our numbers would be way worse.
The ACC has nothing but hot garbage for offenses.
BV couldn't cut it in the Big12; that's why they sent him packing.

No kidding. They think this crap.

Kansas defense is worse than BC's offense. That says a lot.

I'm confused

Dec 10, 2015, 2:28 PM

Are the Big 12 offensive rankings so good because their defenses are so bad or are their defensive rankings so bad because their offenses are so good?

While we are asking

Dec 10, 2015, 2:35 PM

Are SEC defense so good they make the SEC qbs look bad or are the SEC QBs so bad they make their defenses look good?

More importantly, Baylor, TCU, and OSU played them with 2nd,
