Can we have a civil debate about the qb position?

We’ve got a pattern of poor decisions and turnovers
I don’t care how physically gifted you are, poor decisions and turnovers lose games at qb
The more the pressure the worse it gets

With a season in the crapper there’s no reason not to play 2 or even 3 quarterbacks. Let them show who deserves to play. Cade looks less like a 5 star every single play.

A decent offensive line would make Cade look a whole lot more competent

True for any qb, but teams are stacking the box and daring Cade to beat them
The game plan is stop the run and wait for the qb to do something dumb and it’s totally working

And they should give you crap. Trotting out someone else that has also been poorly coached is not going to help anything.

I think it’s beyond coaching
Failing to run the called play at the end of OT Getting sacked for a safety at the end of the half
These are boneheaded mistakes that have nothing to do with coaching.
Some people just lose their wits under the gun when the pressures become too great

That's 2 5 stars in just a few years that have developed poorly

At some point, you can't keep blaming it on the players.

Yeah. The chances of hitting on TL and DW back to back are probably less than having 2 duds though

Fair point
But if it really needs to be said “you are on the 10, with 26 secs to play in the half- don’t take a safety”
Or, “‘make sure to run the play we call”
Then you don’t have the right stuff for that position

That’s the whole point of Defensive pressure. It’s forces the QB into bad decisions and turnovers. Our OL can’t stop or even slowdown the pressure 90% of the time and our WRs can’t block for the screen game so therein lies the problem

Helms might be the best QB on the roster. Or burn CV’s redshirt and play him. Cade doesn’t deserve to lose the starting job IMO but something’s gotta give.

Call a turnaround pass in those 2 plays and score there. Do we get 2 point conversion is a diff story. But the RPO is dead and should be laid to rest in Clemson

I think Cade should be further along considering he played at a very high end Texas program. His ball security is poor considering his pedigree and training.
I think Dabo should've played Cade MUCH more last year. He would be further along if that happened.
Our OL is hot garbage. No one with 8 starts is going to look good behind that unit.
Cade is on his 2nd OC in year two. I KNOW his current OC doesn't have full control of offense. Don't believe me....watch the tape when calls are being relayed.
I think Cade has a ton of talent....but his development is being restricted by average WRs as well.
Cade is the LEAST of our problems on O. OL is garbage; WR is very average; and backs are very average.
Suspect playcalling....particularly on 2nd down after a first down incomplete.

He has already started 8 games in a row and he isn't getting better so playing him more last year would have just meant more losses at a time when we were still in the playoff hunt right up until the last regular season game.
