Thought he got roughed up at bit & was shown not as invincible as always advertised.

Cornerbacks aren't going to shut down their man every play of every game. We won the game despite some of our guys playing below the level we are used to seeing them play.

lightbulb: I saw the same thing. Not his best game obviously. He needs to spend another year maybe 2 if he is to go in the first round IMO. Great talent but at time yesterday he seemed somewhat lost.

stop being selfish and wanting him for 2 more years, he has shut down pretty much every receiver he's faced in his career....one off night isn't going to change his draft status.

not his best game..

But some of those completions were caused by a lack of communication on defense. There were more than a few times when he had 2 or 3 receivers on his side of the field and he was the only one covering on that side. He was trying to get someone else over there with him

Agreed. It was obvious at several points they could not communicate what adjustments Ben et al were barking out to make when the QB audibled.

They completed 3 (or 4 if you count one over the middle wit a few defenders) passes to him. That's half his season total. So yes they were not afraid to test him and sometimes Rudolph won the battle. Our D was having a hard time in the secondary yesterday. I remember one time clearly when there was a 9 yard pass to the sideline and Mac looks at green and kearse and jumps up and down all frustrated. They had a tough time getting the right guy matched up yesterday. FSU has more weapons than we have seen this year. It'll only get better

stop Cook. Even the best CBs in the world are going to get beat occasionally by talented WRs when they have absolutely no safety help.

Few garbage plays here and there, including the random PeeWee-level heaves by Maguire that were lucky to not be pick6s but caught mack by suprise. Id say hes still top 5 cb in nation

I didn't see it. He had one underthrown ball in 4 th quarter that noons could have done anything about. He had the PI, didn't see it on TV but at stadium looked bogus. He saw what was happening on one third and long swing pass but could not get the word to the other dbs to cover. I will take him at this level all day every day.

So, how many passes did his man catch? I think I saw one, and he wasnt even supposed to be covering him. Maybe Im wrong, but to nit pick on stuff after a big win is very coot-like.

And D Cook is on my team, guess what I am going to do? They took him out when they got in the red zone. How dumb is that?

We played a lot more zone in this game than we have

And a few of the times they caught the ball, Mackenzie wasn't playing man coverage. I think he struggled more playing the zone
