Deon Cain injury update

by - Assoc. Editor -

A member of Clemson's 'WRU' NFL roster is almost ready to show off his skills after an ACL-injury claimed his rookie season.

Indianapolis receiver Deon Cain is currently rehabbing his torn ACL and will get some training camp action according to the team's official site.

"Wide receiver Deon Cain is also progressing well from a torn ACL suffered during the team’s first 2018 preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, and is still expected to be brought back into the mix during training camp, though Ballard doesn’t expect Cain to be back to 100 percent until about midway through the regular season."

If healthy, Cain will be battling for a starting spot with competition from Devin Funchess and Parris Campbell.

The former Clemson playmaker led the Tigers in receiving yards (734) and touchdown receptions (6) logging 58 catches in 2017.

The Tampa, Florida product totaled 20 touchdown catches over three seasons which is tied for fourth-most in school history.

He was drafted in the sixth round with the 185th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
