Swinney updates injury status on Clemson defenders

by -

Tuesday night, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney held his first press conference since bowl practice started and Swinney updated the injury status for a trio of Clemson defenders.

Starting middle linebacker Tre Lamar (back) is a go to practice in pads now, but Swinney said they are going to take it easy with him. Starting cornerback Mark Fields (foot) is also expected to be back for the Sugar Bowl matchup with Alabama.

Reserve linebacker Judah Davis (knee) is out for the Sugar Bowl, however, but could return for a possible national championship appearance.

Lamar missed each of the last three games after an injury sustained against Florida State. Fields has been out since the mid-October game at Syracuse. Davis has mainly played on special teams with 12 tackles, 1.5 for loss.
