A one star General observation about Brownell, borne out again last night:

EVERY time we are in a timeout, Coach Brownell is furiously drawing on his Crayola board, diagramming who knows what. I say who knows what, because, when we get back on the court AFTER these timeouts, I never seem to see any sort of a set play on offense to spring a particular shooter for a particular shot, or any big changes on defense. So, what is all that scribbling about?
Set plays CAN be run successfully. I bring up one name as an example. Under Coach Bill Foster, we had a player named Fred Gilliam. He was a good player, but he was particularly good at a jumper from just beyond the free throw line, dead on. I LOST COUNT of how many times we ran a "weave" play that sprung Fred Gilliam open for that very shot. He didn't MAKE it every time, but it was seemingly always open there whenever we ran that play. Over and over again.
I see nothing of that nature coming out of the CBB Crayon sessions on the sidelines now. If anything, he was actually better at that about three or four years ago than he is now. Clemson would most times make a positive run coming out of timeouts back then. Now, not so much.
One big reason a lot of people, myself included, loved Rick Barnes when he was here, is that he had some FIRE in him. Particularly in not taking any CRAP from one Dean Smith. That is what is missing with Brad Brownell. I don't think he even has a warm coal in him at this point, although his facial expressions do look like he has gas all the time.
And, because I know JK will bring up the fact that Brown-L won a game in Chapel Hole when no other Clemson coach had, that was as much of a case of North Carolina descending to our level, as it was us getting up to theirs. The ACC in general is a pale shell of what it once was, and yet, Clemson still can't manage to win it. Past time for a change at the top of the basketball program.

I’d say 70% of the time we don’t even get a shot off on those set plays. He’s the worst.

The relevant question is does he stay within the lines when coloring?

Nope, out of bounds, even on the coloring board.

Might as well laugh about it, crying doesn't help, and uses up tisshoes.

Never attained the rank of General but I faithfully attend the games @ LittleJohn. #### Bender controls that Board. Jack Clark the NCState basketball transfer played nearly the final nine minutes of regulation. He brought little or nothing to the game. During that time C Wiggins sat on the bench. We desperately needed a three point shooter who could guard the three pointer. Clark was neither. He didn’t even appear to be in basketball shape.

when we still have a shot to win it. Shrink up a little bit. Didn't start out that way but it's evolved over the current aeon.

If you dont see set plays that we run, then you are either blind, or dont know basketball.

Makes sense that a trash troll like you would insult a 1976 Clemson graduate who knows Bill Foster plays by name. You don’t know a fraction of what he does you gen z cuck.

The answer is money. JK says if we pay BrownL and assistants more, they will coach better.

I sit close to the bench. During one of the late timeouts, Brad was scribbling on his white pad conversing with an assistant while the players 4-5 ft away were being talked to by another assistant.
Brad said a couple of words to the players, never appeared to go over his white pad with the players and then the players came out and appeared to free lance.
It was a very odd look how little he was actually engaged with the players. I thought back to seeing Coach K huddled up with his guys or Barnes. Brad's time out in no way resembled those guys.
He doesn't show a lot of fire except to yell at the players and keeps getting deeper and deeper on the court. He may actually commit a foul soon at the rate he's going.
