A very special and creepy Alexa moment

We have a few in my house; my wife uses them mostly and I just really use them for music. I have one out at the garage bar connected to my sound system. It makes bar music easy, but I have to mute it so drunks don't try to change the song every 30 seconds. I wish I could program it to know just my voice and say my name, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Well, Saturday night, a few of us are hanging out there and I took the mute button off so we could do some song roulette games. Each person takes a turn based on the whatever parameters we've established and chooses the next song.

One of my buddy's in attendance works a job that works closely with the DoD. He's got some level of clearance and can't talk about a lot of things, but we like to joke that he's really in the CIA because of all the random travel he does for work. But he's too much of a good timer to really be in that... I think.

Anyway, he's finished his last beer and is about to go home. The Alexa is suddenly not being cooperative; she keeps going a different route when the person whose turn it is to pick calls out their song (I can't remember what the song was because of what happened next).

So my friend walks closer to the device and gets aggressive with her, kind of like we all do when Alexa isn't responding properly:

"Alexa, you #####, play ______________."

What she said next floored all of us.

Alexa: "[Buddy's name], go home... Here's [song we've been trying play] on Spotify..."

And my friend turned around immediately, got in his golf cart, and went home.

I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't have five other witnesses there. After lots of laughter and "W T F"s, we started letting it settle in what happened. And yeah, so, now it's pretty #### creepy.

I've only texted with my friend since then and he was pretty weirded out too. Said that was a good cue for him to get the F out of my garage.
