Anyone noticed that when Dabo hires someone

When Dabo hires someone he thinks is a proven great coach that coach seems to have full autonomy of their responsibilities. (Luke, Morris, Venables) But when he hires someone who is new and unproven those coaches seem to struggle? (Austin, Grisham, Streeter, etc)
Just seemed unDabo like for Matt Luke to come in and immediately start targeting portal players instead of developing the in house guys we have on roster already. Like I still don’t know why Ryan Linthicum isn’t and hasn’t been a starter. That kid had high potential and I know he’s been putting in the work year after year.

You used the killer word “potential”. Sometimes kid don’t reach it or it was set to high in the first place. Luke may want to have players who have performed over potential

I think it’s more about the ones we have and they are getting pushed around on the line of scrimmage , I’m sure at some point the coaches let Dabo know if you eant me to do my job, let me get the players I need. , I feel like maybe he’s putting a choke hold on Riley , wish he let him go after some playmakers.

He definitely has a choke hold on Riley. Dabo held the play calling sheet more than I have ever seen him. He even admitted he has been vetoing play calls. Let the man do his job.

My take on 2023. Dabo did not expect injuries, turnovers and offensive OL play to be so significant. After Duke, Dabo wanted the team and coaches to work together thru it. However, it became apparent that issues were not improving by 4-4 record time. Hence, the riot act to the team. That started the 4 game winning streak. A HC making $10M had to do something. Imagine being 9th ranked and then maybe ending the year with a losing record! So he had to do something. And yes, some hires have not worked out. So Dabo had to address them. Good managers trust and let staff perform until the results suffer. I guess coaches with more experience get a longer leash. But Dabo expects everyone to excel.

That may be true but an alternative may be that the staff understands who is leaving and how many spots will be available. Based on that number of spots, they may have collectively decided OL is where the few open spots should be "spent". I could be wrong but it's plausible.

The timing of OL targeting also coincided with the actual window in which you can target players. We know Dabo has gone after OL in the portal prior to this year, and Austin is gone, so we don’t know that he would/wouldn’t have been targeting OL players himself this year. We also don’t know that Luke is targeting the portal instead of developing in house guys, he is most certainly targeting the portal in concert with developing in house guys. We also have no idea what level of autonomy different coaches may have.
The bottom line is Dabo has always hired people he thinks will do a good job, and in most cases he is correct. He hasn’t changed his stance or use of the portal, and he hasn’t hesitated to fire coaches when he feels it’s warranted. People, on both sides, will use any new development as evidence their position is/was correct, but if we are being objective, nothing has changed. And I’d something does change, that’s ok too. Always be leery of people who continually point out the mistakes of people who are in the upper echelon of their chosen career, for them it’s not about the job, but their own insecurities.

Streeter unproven?

Richmond
After Rocco was named the head coach at Richmond in December 2011, Streeter joined Rocco's staff as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.[4] During his time as the Spiders offensive coordinator, the Spiders put up 28 points per game in 2011, 33 in 2012, and 31 in 2013.[5] Clemson (second stint)
In 2014, Streeter was named the quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator at Clemson University, replacing Chad Morris as the position coach and Jeff Scott as the recruiting coordinator, the latter being one of Morris' successors as offensive coordinator.[6] His first appearance as quarterbacks coach was in the Russell Athletic Bowl, where Clemson quarterback Cole Stoudt threw for a season high 319 yards and three passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and the game's MVP in a 40–6 victory over Oklahoma.[7]
During Streeter's time as recruiting coordinator, Clemson's recruiting classes were consistently ranked in the top 25 by recruiting websites 247Sports and Rivals, while also getting commitments from top quarterback prospects Trevor Lawrence and DJ Uiagalelei.[8]
Following Scott's departure to accept the head coaching position at South Florida, Streeter assumed more offensive responsibilities, also receiving a promotion to passing game coordinator. Streeter's recruiting coordinator duties were passed on to defensive tackles coach Todd Bates.[9][10]
On December 14, 2021, Streeter was promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Clemson, replacing Tony Elliott after his departure to become the head coach at the University of Virginia.[11][12]
