Great video, brought back a lot of memories and reminds us how much the facilities for the players have improved since then. Also, bring back the balloons for the team running down the Hill.

Good stuff.

I have never seen people exercise so dang fast! Must have told them to finish 100 reps before dinner.

but I'd give my right nut to have that 1981 defense suit up every year for us today. No not the wimpy left one, the right one. The good one.

I remember being told we had the best weight facilities in the nation around that time (may have been after 81 though).

That was very interesting. Looking for the Bengal Babes running around the events. Also, I like the way the team came down The Hill then vs now. Like men charging into battle.

It was fairly common in those days as wieght training right before practice (all sports). Light weights set on each machine.
30 second intervals. Do as many reps as possible. Whistle blows, move to the next machine. 30 seconds, etc. etc. etc.

Pneumatic Resistance Machines. You’d set a specific PSI resistance and write it down, then you’re going for MAX # of reps over a specific time. We’d do 20 seconds at each machine, 20 secs to get to the next machine and go around that circuit 3 times. It would make you puke. If I recall correctly, they said it was supposed to build explosiveness. Everything was written down and you tracked it over the course of the year, the idea being to see increased PSI resistance while maintaining the same reps (40-60 in 20 secs). I hated those machines.
