Clemson vs FSU a NOON GAME!?!

I don't know what to say about this one. Frankly I'm passed. We paid over $300 a ticket for a NOON GAME!?! This is unbelievable. I figured this would be a night game, or at least a 3:30 game at the very least. This is the biggest game of the season for us and likely for the ACC and they want to slot it at NOON?!?!?! I'm beyond disappointed. I bought these tickets before the season started and I was hoping to take my Dad to a night game in the valley, not prop him in a seat and risk him getting a heat stroke! For as expensive these tickets were we should have had a night game. No other ACC team is selling tickets for this much. Unreal.

Leo, Leo! Calm down.
I paid over $500 per ticket for mine. The amount of money raised by football tickets is never considered by a TV network or the ACC as an influence on when the game is scheduled.
The ACC will work with the TV network to allow the networks to make the best decision for viewer interest - so the network makes the most money possible - so supposedly they can pay the ACC contract.
If you want a whipping boy, blame the team for creating opportunity for the public belief that Clemson is not worthy of the prime time slot.
We can regain that respect by beating FSU at noon - and I believe we can and we will. So, I intend to enjoy my $500+ tickets to the max!

I might be wrong about this but I think the Sugar Bowl against LSU in 1957(?) was the first televised game for Tiger football. I watched it .... before most of you experts were born. Clemson on tv was something that just didn’t happen until recently. Now, every game is on and I’m extremely glad because my 82 year old body can’t make some of the looong road trips. I’ll be in my seat next Saturday. It will be hot as the real Valley but that’s better than me being on the road at two am! Go Tigers. The real supporters will be there in full force. It will be a tough game too!

Aren't Noon Games highly viewed games?

Like a national TV noon game (Clemson vs. FSU) gets more viewers than a 3:30 regional game. I thought I read somewhere that nooners are sometimes the next highest watched games of the day other than the prime time game.

"No other ACC team is selling tickets for this much"
The team is not selling tickets for $300. That's a reseller market price.

You are right...most of them are not worth seeing...only a few years ago FSU had to give away tivkets...even student ones because a televised game would have shown an almost empty stadium...and their band kept disturbing a sunbathing reader! Anything that's valuable costs a little more!

I’m sorry for your loss. T’s and P’s.
BTW, the extended forecast is showing a high of 78. And Clemson doesn’t sell tickets for $300 each.

There are noon games, 3:30 games, 6:00 games, 7:00 games, 7:30 games and 8:00 games and probably more games on television each week. The networks, not the conferences, call the shots and the conferences and schools cash the checks. Games used to be at 1:00 and no television so things change.

ESPN trying to promote FSU this year and did not want them to play tigers in Death Valley at night which could have helped us. That kind of world now where powers that be try to determine outcomes. Laugh at this if you are naive.

Wait till gambling money starts working on outcomes...some of these so called student athletes would sell their half sister foe $10.

Lol. So you think gambling will give FSU the game, or what?

There is no conspiracy.....

ESPN's best game that week might be Clemson and FSU. They put it at 12:00 so they didn't have to compete with Ohio State vs Notre Dame at 7:30 on NBC and Penn State vs Iowa at 7:30 on CBS. Both of those are top 25 match ups.

ABC has two national slots- a night slot which would compete with ND/OSU or noon which will make Clemson/FSU game the game most of the country will tune into. Once we lost to Duke and ND/OSU dis not get upset, it was inevitable that our game would be at noon. Not putting Clemson v FSU at noon would have gotten a TV Exec fired.
At some point, people on this board will realize that football decisions at the macro level are totally based on Fox, CBS, and Disney bottom lines.

People keep saying they don't want to compete with ND/OSU but the fact that the networks put their best shows on the same night during the week head to head with each other disproves this. Networks traditionally don't run from the competition IMO

It doesn't disprove it at all. Weeknights have limited time slots...they aren't going to put a show on in the afternoon or before 8PM due to national time zones.
Weekends have all day to play with.

Very few people besides Clemson and FSU fans would watch a night game with Ohio St playing ND at the same time. More people will watch this game in this time slot then again night. Sorry you overpaid for tickets considering they only cost around $150 per from the university website.
