Go to Nasa.gov. they have a tracker that tells you the time for each zip code. Basically it is going to be from Texas to Maine in the afternoon. Here in Tennessee it will be at its most pronounced at 3:07 pm. , but only about 90% of totality.

Believe it or not, there is no school in Greenville County on eclipse day...

The district is concerned that some of the county's future rocket surgeons will look at the eclipse without the proper eye protection and the parents will then sue the district for negligence/damages. I wish I was kidding but this is absolutely true.

Almost all school districts are doing the same. Too much liability. I retired from K-12 school business/finance and it's absolutely the correct decision

Kids today are spoiled and lazy.

were near totality and I am sick of hearing about it. They beat it to death and then say 1/3 of folks dont know about the special glasses. I'll bet if Taylor Swift and Kelce said something aobut it every stupid twit in the world would listen. Watching us become a third world country with stupid sheeple is very dispointing

My gosh didn't we just have a total eclipse here in SC 7 years ago in 2017? I know we were in the path of totality. I don't remember all this drama and shutting things down back then.

That was pre-covid. The world was still sane.
E-learning only became a thing in 2020. Now schools know they can just declare an e-learning day, send home about 10 minutes worth of schoolwork, and take a day off. Kids’ educations suffer, parents suffer, businesses suffer. It’s ridiculous that this is still allowed.

It may have been in summer 2018. No school anyway.

It ain't even worth buying the glasses to look at it if you're not within the zone of totality. With an eclipse, the difference between 99% and 100% is like 1000 times.
