How well do we think Norvell does with DJ?
DJ will have an offense that’s good. FSU is getting transfers from Bama and more top schools. I think DJ will have support around him.
Or do you think DJ will continue his average level of play?
He leads his teams to surprisingly good records.
i believe FSU will still be favored to win ACC, but if DJ regresses even a little, I think we’ve got them.

He will probably pass Peyton Manning on the list of most wins NCAA wins.
He might end up second or third on the list in the record book.

DJ just needs the light in his head to come on. He’s throwing abilities are incredible minus short touch passes that should be the easy ones.
He over processing everything on every play. He should have to think and process in the hurry up for a full year with many different defenses and watch it every day after practice. That’s his only chance to stop over processing.
After practice he should practice touch passing to the RB & TE.
DJ has been a class act despite his dad’s advice in most cases to be a young person taking a lot of heat. He might just come out of this thing and do something great.
I do believe he wishes he would have handled his Clemson experience better as we all do about our past, he appreciates Dabo now. I’d bet he wishes he would have let Dabo advise him instead of his dad, Dabo tried almost to a fault.
All of this is In my opinion, I hope he finally gets it unless he plays us.

Just the opposite of my take. DJ can't think after the ball is snapped. Either way he falls on his face so I'm not arguing about it with you, brother.

If Norwell can fix DJ's first step and make it quicker than my grandmaw...

he's need to work at least three years to teach DJ the playbook well enough that he will know where his receivers are going to be in less than half an hour.
Norvell's first step with DJ should be removing all plays from his book which require DJ to think after the ball is snapped. So no options on anything.
IDK what to tell Norvell to comfort him when he realizes no matter who his opponent, they are going to have a better QB than DJ.
My best advise for him is superglue DJ's fanny to the bench.

schools could not. I still saw evidence of the concrete shoes at Oregon State. Whenever he refused to move his feet, that is most likely when he threw those six yard passes into the dirt, when 12 yards were required to get it to the receiver. Or, conversely, airmailed them at a height that even Kareem Abdul-Jabbar couldn't reach up and snag.
I do expect him to have a great game against us, though, if in fact he is actually the starter at that point. It's just natural human motivation to think that he would.

My main thought about DJU is, if FSU doesn’t work out, where’s his next stop? Maybe Sakerlina?

One thing needs to be considered/understood when comparing DJU next year at FSU

First, I think DJU has great tools and I always (and still do) think he COULD be a very good QB at college level.
I am certain we will get a lot of DJU comparisons next year, especially if DJU has a good year at FSU.
One thing you have to keep in mind, though, that I think gets lost when our fans watched DJU last year and will watch him next year.
Whatever DJU is at FSU, he's 2 years more into college football from when he last played for Clemson. I think DJU would have gotten better at Clemson, especially with Riley as coordinator. Whatever he becomes at FSU, I think could have also been at Clemson had he stayed.
I think some of our fans are trying to equate DJU's success (if he has it) at another school as an judgment of Clemson in some way. I just don't see it that way.

DJ did better this year... nothing elite, but better. I think he will have a good season for them next year.. nothing heisman worthy but if they play a system that fits him, he will be ok.

I've got a feeling DJ will never play for FSU, or even be enrolled there for a substantial timeframe. Some competition will arrive and Big Dave will start whining about broken promises.

Looks like FSU looses 3 starters on offensive line, starting running back, and 2 top WRs. My guess is he struggles as would anyone.

I think he’ll still be DJ. Strong arm, no touch, unable to read the defense, and cement shoes.

As long as FSU gains a few WR that are 2ft tall, I see no issues with DJU. However, I forecast that Sammy Brown and the rest of Clemson’s stout defense will be creating havoc and causing DJU to throw passes at the feet of the WRs.

I have no idea how it will work out, just telling you what folks who know far more about X and O stuff than I do are saying.
1. Norvell adjusts his offense to fit the abilities of his players. He sees their strengths and adjusts his offense to them, not forcing them to adjust to his wishes. 2. He and his QB coach are very good at developing QBs. Travis got significantly better every year. They can coach DJU to get better. 1. FSU's run game is not primarily read options. The Norvell run game (the way he would like to use it) consists of, in order A. Counter runs. Lot of different looks - guard and tackle, guard and TE, Tackle and TE, all 3. B. Zone runs, not zone reads. Designed runs using zone blocking - inside zone and outside zone. C. RPO, not QB runs. QB reads safety and either gives it to RB or pulls and passes. D. Zone reads. E. QB counter.
As for the passing game, no one doubts DJU's physical ability. It will just be a matter of coaching him up to make the right reads and make accurate throws. Only time will tell how successful the coaches will be.

Crap in crap out. I've never seen so many people falling all over themselves to manufacture something in a college athlete. I just don't get it. If he wants to play, move him to a position he has a chance at actually doing something at. I'm sure there have been players with a lot more potential than him and ended up working for the state and smoking a crack pipe. I've just never understood the love for this dude.

and u fit on this board exceptionally well for a non tiger.
But you just listed everything dju can not do at a high school level.
Clemson won 10 games with him but it was an immensely worse season than this year.

DJ played better this past year at Oregon State than he did at Clemson. Part that was he had a better offensive line, the other was his growth immaturity. He’ll probably play better at FSU than he played this past year. That means DJ will probably be playing better than Cade, unless Cade makes significant improvements in his game next year.
