Speaker Mike Johnson

It’s pathetic how speaker Mike Johnson and his MAGA buddies are so subservient to trump. They aren’t allowed to make a single decision. They’re following a former POTUS that’s facing over 90 indictments.
Sad and hilarious at the same time.
By far the weakest speaker of the house ever. Oh, no maybe that was McCarthy. 😂🤣🤪

In Johnson's defense, how would you navigate his situation any better? Other than resigning, he doesn't have the margins to deal with either Trump or morons like MTG.
He is in an untenable situation dealing with a circular firing squad.
Unless the Pubs change back to a position where a single nutjob can't bring down the Speaker, the job is essentially worthless.

Sure, as long as the GOP continues to play a zero-sum game of absolute resistance with absolutely no agenda beyond The Dems Get Nothing They Want Ever and refuses to govern.
All Johndon has to do is cut some deals with the Dems, enough that they aren't willing to go along with whatever idiocy MTG or Gaetz or any of the narcissistic social-media influencers posing as representatives pull out next week. If the Dems won't vote to remove, the circus clowns have zero power. But he hasn't. McCarthy wouldn't. Even at the end, with his job in jeopardy, McCarthy continued to vent hyperbole all over the Dems and refused to reach out to them...and so they collectively shrugged and duly lopped off his head. Which just sort of left me shaking mine. Like: wheeling and dealing is what Congress is supposed to do...and you won't do it even to save your own job?
The Dems have a heapload of bad and fanciful and often wrongheaded policies, but at least they have policies. The GOP hasn't got a clue what it wants to do anymore beyond culture-war BS and setting the house on fire, which is particularly jarring when you consider how bottom-line and clearheaded the GOP traditionally was before MAGA rolled around.

But the Dems won't play ball with this. They know the Pubs have ###### themselves with this Trump/MAGA candidate situation in Congress and they're letting them tear each other apart.

republicans are weak and the democrats know it
thats why democrats dont negotiate, because republicans will eventually cave and give them what they want
