This is not a player profile or a game profile. This one is more of an entire season profile.
From the “always reliable” Wikipedia:
The 1945 Clemson Tigers football team was an American football team that represented Clemson College during the 1945 college football season. In its sixth season under head coach Frank Howard, the team compiled a 6–3–1 record (2–1–1 against conference opponents), finished fourth in the conference, and outscored opponents by a total of 211 to 73. The team played its home games at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.
Center Ralph Jenkins was the team captain. The team's statistical leaders included tailback Marion Butler with 239 passing yards, fullback Dewey Quinn with 392 rushing yards, and Butler and fullback Jim Reynolds with 30 points scored (5 touchdowns each).
Tackle Bob Turner and center Ralph Jenkins were selected as first-team players on the 1945 All-Southern Conference football team.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1945_Clemson_Tigers_football_team
Stats on the 1945 opening game from ClemsonTigers.com:
Sept. 22, 1945 – Fourteen Clemson backs netted 516 yards in a 76-0 victory over Presbyterian. Freshman Bobby Gage led the Tigers with 144 yards, including 88 yards on a touchdown run, the longest run from scrimmage by a Tiger in the decade of the 1940s. The Tigers had 11 rushing touchdowns in the game, still a Clemson record.

1945 Season Results: 6-3-1

Also: Shout out to David Hood (who actually IS reliable) for a great article he wrote for Tigernet in September 2018 about the 1945 team. In this article, David tells the story of the Clemson at Ga Tech game – a game in which Tech was heavily favored and was “tapering” before its game against UGa the next week. The article does not let me copy text, but it is definitely worth the read:
https://www.tigernet.com/clemson-football/story/the-year-was-1945,-and-the-tigers-had-plenty-of-bulletin-board-material-against-tech-17245
And, finally, the 1945 Clemson Football Media Guide:

I agree - some of the differences between then now and are amazing:
- They only played 10 games - They started the season on September 22 (Imagine having to wait ANOTHER three weeks for the first game) - The average score was 21-7 (A lot more running the ball - and less passing - then) - A game could end in a tie - A 6-3-1 record was apparently not good enough for a bowl game
Different game today for sure.

South Carolina Highway 211 is a 27.4 mile state highway that runs from SC 150 just north of Pacolet traveling east to SC 49 in the small town of Sharon after going through Asbury and Suratt. SC 211 serves southern Cherokee and western York counties.
Another never been place is Oconee State Park near Mountain Rest in the Blue Ridge Mountain region of South Carolina. It has the standard state park stuff like cabins, camping, fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and picnics with two small lakes, eight trails, and several picnic facilities. The park was built in the 1930s during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps, an effort by FDR to put men to work. The park is also the southwestern end of the 76 mile Foothills Trail and is another location of the rare Oconee Bell plant.

Beautiful park. It's amazing to me that it can weather the years and still stand pretty much as originally built. There are some good people in this world to keep it in such pristine condition. Thanks for sharing.

I have passed the end of that road every time I travel up Hwy 49 from Laurens to where I grew up and most of my immediate family still live. Never paid attention to the number of that one road that comes into the town from the left on the way north.

211 AD was a common year that began on a Tuesday.

As any Roman swine could tell you, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Terentius and Bassus.
February 4 – Emperor Septimius Severus, having fallen ill, dies in Eboracum (modern-day York) while on campaign in Britain after an 18-year reign. His sons Caracalla and Geta succeed him as joint Roman Emperors.
December 19 – Geta is lured to come without his bodyguards to meet Caracalla, to discuss a possible reconciliation. When he arrives the Praetorian Guard murders him, and he dies in the arms of his mother Julia Domna.
As I have said before, when the Romans didn't like you, they didn't mess around.
211 years ago, it was 1813. Some happenings from that year:
January 18–23 – War of 1812: The Battle of Frenchtown is fought in modern-day Monroe, Michigan between the United States and a British and Native American alliance.
March 4: James Madison is sworn in for a 2nd term as President of the United States.
April 27 – War of 1812: Battle of York – United States troops raid and destroy but do not hold the capital of Upper Canada, York (modern-day Toronto).
June 1 – War of 1812: Capture of USS Chesapeake in Boston Harbor by British Royal Navy frigate HMS Shannon.
June 6 - War of 1812: Battle of Stoney Creek – A British force of 700 under John Vincent defeats an American force three times its size, under William H. Winder and John Chandler.
September 10 – War of 1812 – Battle of Lake Erie: An American squadron under Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry defeats a British squadron, capturing 6 ships.
October 5 – War of 1812 –Battle of the Thames in Upper Canada: William Henry Harrison defeats the British, and native leader Tecumseh is killed in battle.
November 11 – War of 1812 – Battle of Crysler's Farm: An outnumbered British–Canadian force repels an American attack, forcing the Americans to give up their attempt to capture Montreal.
December 29 – War of 1812: British soldiers burn Buffalo, New York.
As can be seen, "Win some and lose some" was certainly the phrase of the day when it came to the War of 1812.
