It's not ....the very real possibility of having your team completely decimated every single year and having to rebuild has to be a daunting task for coaches and just doesn't seem sustainable

Once that cycle starts, you will never be a development team either, as you will be chasing transfers every year just to field a competitive team, example FSU. The chances of 2-3* recruits being given schollies by D1 schools are going down everyday in this day of college ball.

FSU is a joke. It is on probation and now, openly doing whatever it wishes. Roster tampering is here to stay unless the NCAA stops it. I predict that if Bama and UGa get hurt too much, the NCAA will do as ESPN tells them and stops it.

Kids are being recruited to D1 at higher rates than ever from D2, D3, Ivy League and Junior college which displaces opportunities for HS recruits to D1. Plus add in the additional 5-9yr college athletes due to Med RS forgiveness and Covid, the number of D1 HS recruits has decreased as schollies are offered to college experienced athletes.
Believe it or not, its been mentioned in many articles over the last 2yrs.

Creates more parity and in the end it will place more emphasis on stability, culture, and commitment. I think we will start to see the teams with Talent and stability shine over teams built in the short term portal. The teams that find balance will succeed.

Yeah, they will probably only win 12 games instead of 13 or 14.

I read on the Bama board they are down from 19 five stars to only 13. Poor Bama. How many teams have 13 five stars?

I think there are about 7 or so more with eligibility declaring for the NFL draft. Yes sir, Bama gutted and didn't even need a filet knife.

The other thing that hurt Bama was Saban himself. He had a revolving door of coaches. Every year he had to replace two or three prominent coaches. Assistants would go to Bama to be under Saban with the idea of bolting after a year or two. Swinney had done an unbelievable job of holding onto his coaches. Yes, there has been turnover, but not to the extent Saban had. I guess Saban (Bama) was the victim of his own success.

Don't feel top bad for them as they will soon start to poach players from other teams. Hopefully we won't lose anyone to them.

I hate it also. It appears UGA and Ohio State are enjoying the opportunity to cherry pick additional talent to their already stacked rosters.
