- In this time of turmoil Dabo has proven he’s loyal, stands by his commitments, and aims to develop young men into adults… long term I believe this is more sustainable and is why we didn’t drop off like LSU did in 2020… short term it means we may not the most elite of the elite but realistically I think we’ll be in it every year - This is also why a number of players are considering a return next year… getting Ruke, Tyler Davis, Sheridan Jones, and Joseph Ngata back (if that’s what happens) will be as big as pretty much any transfer you could name - Cade will develop more over the off-season… basic things like weight training and improving his reads because he clearly has the IT factor - Our coaches will learn from what went well and what didn’t this year… Dabo has alluded to that many times and if you read between the lines of his pressers you can tell he’s learned from the past even if he doesn’t blatantly state it
Not trying to change you mind, you’re entitled to your own opinion… but I’m personally gonna choose to believe because that’s worked well for me over the last decade

Agree my friend. Sometimes it’s hard to take these folks who dwell in the negative all the time. You should have been with me when I sat thru 2 wins and losing seasons. We were so excited to have a chance to win the Atlantic division but were beaten by Boston College in the Valley. Entitlement has certainly taken over many Tiger fans.

If he does, I’m not confident that he is currently willing or able to fix them.

This is the same BS that I hear from the GM of my Yankees. Refusal to make big trades that could put the team over the hump and make them World Series contenders. Instead he just says "x player will be back from the injured list and it will be like making a huge trade."
It's a loser mentality. The transfer portal has made teams like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Michigan better. It's no wonder they've surpassed Clemson. Their coaches are flexible and have taken advantage of the changing landscape of college football. Meanwhile we have Good Christian Man™ Dabo who refuses to take players who might not exactly fit his "culture." It's asinine.
BTW, none of those players would sniff a draft spot. Orhorhoro probably has the best stock but he's still not NFL ready.

C’mon, you can’t be serious with that analysis.
Davis and Bresee, obviously they still have decisions to make but they’re clearly gonna get drafted early whether they come out this year or next
Moreover, to compare the MLB to College Football is silly. Football is clearly a true team sport with an increased emphasis on communication and timing, player continuity is critical to success. A .320 hitter is a .320 hitter whether they’re in Pin Stripes or Dodger Blue.

You didn't even mention Bresee in your post, so I wasn't addressing him.
To call baseball "not a true team sport" shows how little you actually know about it. The skills required are different but teams that are well put together play much better than ones that aren't - same as football. And hitters can play better in one stadium than another due to a number of factors - outfield dimensions, coaching, spot in the lineup, etc. Honestly not even worth responding to a statement that stupid.

And besides, my comment wasn't on whether baseball and football are "team sports," it's about the mentality of the upper management/coaches on whether to get the best players that are available. Dabo refuses to use the portal, making it that much harder to get the best that are out there.

Use the portal for what? A player that can’t start at Wisconsin or an East Carolina? 1. We have no positions to fill. 2. 99.9% of the portal players aren’t upgrades.

So what QB in the portal would you being in over Cade? Rattler makes perfect sense at SC because they had NOBODY.

Dabo recruited 3 OLs last year from the portal and non worked out. Most of the portal players are not going to help Clemson. Look at the ones we lost, they will help the teams they are going to but are just not good enough to start here without serious injuries in front of them.

We have seen multiple position groups struggle for two years straight.
Do you expect to address all of these needs through recruiting high school talent? We already sign top 10 classes but have not finished in the top 10 since 2020.

Stop wasting scholarships on 5 hearts? Get a new OC, OL and WR coach?
Just add in “we need a new color scheme and logo” and you’ve basically got a brand new program… maybe the transfer portal suits you lol

To get even close to being the best in college FB, the best and most experience coaching staff is a must have or the best never will come. Dabo talks all the time about experience that players may or may not have, but we never hear a thing about the experience that his staff had with coaching at the very highest level before they were hired to get Clemson FB to the best to come, and that is bc he hired some A$$ kissers to coach up his player to be the best they can ever be!!!! That is the part of Dabo that of lately he has become, and that is the lie that he has convinced himself will work. Do you fans actually see this very inexperience coaching staff to coach up our player to be the best that has yet to come. Answer that one question honestly to yourself, I have and being honest with myself, I don't see the best that we've had already with this staff, I truly don't see that ever happening with this coaching staff!!!!

Based on Dabos demeanor in the presser last night I don't believe that is the case.
I am the biggest Dabo fan in the world and told my Dad based on the trajectory "college" football is on I am probably done with the sport when Dabo moves on.
But he looked like a guy that knows the issues with this team are complex (mostly of his own making) and he has no answers as to how to fix it.

The "Best is Yet to Come" is too high of a bar at this time. We won 2 National Championships in 3 seasons. To better that we have to go back to back or win 3 in 5. Is that reasonable to expect from any team? Let's just get back to "Best is the Standard" for now.
