yep, Parked there for over 20 years under a big tree. With all the changes, congestion we moved to Lot 6. I know the other trees will grow and I am just set in my ways but walking up to Stadium when leaves where changing in Fall was a pretty sight. Saw it there other day and it just looks so barren

Ha. There is a lot of stuff that could have gone there instead. I would just be thankful for any spots if I parked there.

Call me old-fashioned...

...but I miss when traditions were for the fans and players...not for media content.
Running down The Hill used to be exciting. Now, you have to be told to get stoked for the "Most exciting 25-seconds in College Football!!!" By the time it actually happens, it's a letdown.
Now the "Tiger Walk" isn't just players and coaches walking amongst fans. It's a golden highway with signs and directions. We have sacrificed history to make it shiny and new. Sort of like that Andy Griffith episode where the mayor was going to cut down the big oak tree on Main Street because a movie was going to be filmed in town.
Auburn started talking about Toomer's Corner so much that a redneck killed the trees. And I get so sick of hearing about the "12th Man" at Texas A&M (How long before it becomes the "12th Person"?)
Traditions are for those who take the time to invest in, and attend the games. They shouldn't be lifeless commercials for schools.
And while I'm at it...STAY OFF OF MY GRASS!!!

Solid post. The thing about the Tiger Walk is it’s not even a Clemson thing. It’s been copied all over college football and we are way late to that party. Just let others have their traditions and let’s make sure to preserve ours. Definitely agree about the straggling down the hill event too. Somebody posted a picture of The Hill in all its unterraced glory. We won’t even have that soon.

Dabo brought it from Alabama is my understanding. The tendency to mimic success is common.

IDK if Alabama was the first. Ole Miss started doing their Walk of Champions on the grove in the mid 80's I think.

Re your comment on the walk not being about players and coaches anymore...
I was talking to my sister yesterday who lives in Anderson. She had seen pics of the Walk and she said...."well...it's nice". Dead silence. Then she said.."Waiting on the King of England to ride up in his carriage". And my response was..."yes, it's nice but I really liked it better when it was just an informal walk thru the crowd and the players could shake hands and hear the good wishes from the crowd".
Progress is progress, I guess.

I think it looks good. I also think the players and future players will like it. The landscaping will fill in and be there for the next 20 years for fans to enjoy.
