Has anyone here ever attended to the Shrine Bowl?

It's literally 5 minutes away from me, so I am thinking about it. Would be my first time though. If you've ever been, how is it?

I went with my dad a few years ago when DK played in it.. it was cold to say the least, but if you're going to watch the clemson commits ig it's worth it.

I went one year and this guy went off for some crazy yards on offense and was a beast on defense.

My son played in it in 2019. It was a first class production that year. Sam Howell was NC QB and SC "star" was Zacch Pickens. Neither team could move ball much so put Pickens at RB and he had us marching down the field and then fumbled. Ended in 10-10 tie.
fun entertainment and a cheap price

HAVENT MISSED ONE IN YEARS. DID NOT HAVE IT THE LAST FEW YEARS BECAUSE OF THE DREADED. WELL WORTH YOUR TIME. AND A GOOD CAUSE ALSO.

When Clemson recruited NC and SC hard, and I followed recruiting intently, I went to many of the games that were played in Spartanburg as I resided there for about 10 years. Always cold and usually raining. Was there with a buddy with sideline passes (we were dressed like Clemson fans or maybe coaches) and were standing with with Da'Quan Bowers and company. Was content to stand on the sideline and watch the action up close but during a grease board session with the defense gathered around the coach I looked up and saw my buddy behind the bench watching them draw up the scheme. A a couple players looked around at him with a funny look - not sure what he said but as we moved about we simply said we were "with the Tigers". As some may recall there was a great debate about Willy Korn's height. After one game we followed the upper tier players down to the media area (were stopped but got through - "we're with the Tigers"). Listened to the interviews and stood back to back with Willy and Stanley Hunter to assess their height. Hunter had committed as a LB and was maybe 5'10" while Willy seemed to be 6'1" (Kornblut was reporting that he was only 6' and maybe less). So both were shorter than listed by about an inch but we were satisfied that they were big enough to play. Good times - back in the day if you had some contact with with local Shriners in Spartanburg you could secure a sideline pass for peanuts. Many fond memories as hope would always spring eternal that this batch of incoming recruits would lead to future success.

My most memorable trip to the Shrine Bowl starred Roscoe Crosby.
My most recent trip was considerably more boring and I am proud to say that I was able to save all of the toes that I feared I would lose to frostbite.
It's a fun day as long as you dress in the correct clothes to be comfortable for the weather.
