playoffs? Just doesn't seem right to me that teams only a game above 0.500 or maybe even LESS, have a chance to ruin the season for a good team, with "one hot game".

The NBA is probably the worst with 16 of their 30 teams making the playoffs each year.

Makes for great tv $$$$. That’s what it’s all about even though the fans would love to think the players love their team as much as they do.

weren't the Giants 8-8 in the regular season when they beat the patriots and ruined their hopes of a perfect season?

Good thing college is not like that. Would hate to see 6-6 teams playing in bowl games. ????

Trophy for those teams that DIDN'T make the Playoffs. You can't compare it with expanded Playoffs or tournaments where anyone who qualified CAN win the Big Prize.

It seems like the playoffs have been going on for weeks for alot of the teams. Just look at the Raiders, Chargers, Steelers and Colts. Every game since November was a must win. The Ravens looked like a lock until LJ went down. I like the new playoff format and think that we may see some upsets this year. I'm looking forward to all the games this weekend. All are good matchups and most of the games have former Tigers playing key parts.

No…I like it…it creates more completion at the top since there is only one bye. As a result, more top teams played their starters for longer periods this week than I would say they have in past years. It also creates more competition and scenarios for those last few spots…yesterday was actually very exciting for a change.

This all the way.
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the CFB playoffs take a similar route with 14 teams.
Split into two regions.
- Top 2 teams get a bye - 2-7 play each other - home game goes to higher seed. - Conference champs get the higher seeds followed by highest ranked at large teams. - Add same conference teams to same region to ensure no rematch in the natty game.
You'll never see an AFC or NFC only Super Bowl -- let's make it the same for CFB.
