I did get to drive Tone Loc around. Everyone told me he'd wanna get high and invite me. He was 20 minutes late for pickup while getting high and didn't invite me. In the 40 minute drive the only thing he said was, "Y'all got a lotta trees in Charleston"

Steve from Smashmouth, RIP, called me a funny motherf***er as I drove them away from the Yorktown. Poor guys wanted a Wal-Mart to buy booze at 10 PM. I had to break it to them that in SC we frown upon drinking after 7 PM with easy access at places such as the Wal-Mart.

Maybe I've shared those tales before, I don't remember and don't care if I German myself.

Sad indeed. Hearing him got me interested in jazz. I bought a cassette (yeah, that long ago) of He and Bob James. Wore it out. Some of the best I've heard.
