So if Brad comes back and makes the NCAAT...

Next season, but in two years goes 17-16 again, what do you do then?
I say end Ground Hog Day, and make a change.
Why do it then, when you can do it now...

Not sure why you would use the word "if" as Brad is certainly coming back for another season. Why would he not?

Because his 12 yr body of work is sub-mediocre.

"Wait til next year" is the mantra of the basketball program

After 12 years, a malaise has set in. At this point, it's not just the fans that are losing interest, I think the players are ready for a change as well.
Don't wait for the bottom to completely fall out of the program and getting a new coach becomes much more difficult.

This is precisely what makes the timing so attractive now.

Our cupboard is far from bare. We have a very decent roster set to return, including a potential all-American, and a solid looking recruiting class on the horizon. Our national brand is on fire, and we are up there among the elite when it comes to athletics and support overall. Our AD obviously shows significant loyalty and stability when it comes to its program leaders, and though one would be following the winningest coach in program history, he's not championship quality and is hardly a legend. As a league, the ACC is wide open and ripe for the picking, and, perhaps best of all, it's God's country.
There is a LOT on the table to attract some of the best candidates in the business out there. We represent an amazing opportunity in the profession, today.

Well I'd say it's a lot more nuanced Question than you are making it out to be...
What did we do the previous 2 years? Did we go to a sweet 16? Go to the acc championship game?
What do we have coming back the next year? Will we be better the next year, or worse?
What does the recruiting class look like?

I've voiced my opinion on here, and voiced my opinion to the Athletic Department that I expect and believe we can do better. We've done the renovations, we've given him assistants and a lot of support. He makes a generous salary that every year NCAA teams don't get. Heck, the other ACC teams have helped Brad to achieve more - the ACC has declined the last 6 years.
You'd have a few more students and fans in the stands with a great team, but not much more. So I can't agree with poor fan attendance as a contributing excuse for mediocre teams. But I will buy season tickets whether I use them or not if, and only if Brad Brownell is replaced.

Any one in their right mind would move to someone else. Finished 10th place in 12 seasons and got us into NCCA 3 times. That could happen by accident with anyone coaching
