I heard or saw something in Garrett that will maybe cause strife between Garrett and Dabo. When Garrett made the statement that he would like for the offense to shove it down a teams throat when needed to be, that tells me that he has a killer instinct to him, and Dabo is totally the opposite IMO, But, an offensive coordinator with a killer instinct is something I've wanted to see since Dabo has built an elite FB team at Clemson. Yes sir I've wanted to see us with an offensive coordinator that believes it isn't his job to stop our team from scoring, that's the job of whoever the defensive coordinator is that we face, that's his job to stop us!!!

I think you just have some recency bias. We had no issues putting teams away when Jeff Scott was OC. Yes, Dabo often puts the backups in early, but we did that during our championship seasons too

Don’t confuse putting in backups with a big lead as not…

Having killer instinct. You still dictate to the defense and inflict your will on them regardless, you just don’t risk injuring your starters when you have a commanding lead. Putting in your second string when you can is smart. It gets them in-game experience to build depth and you don’t overly risk injuries to your starters.
The one time that I wish Dabo would have been more aggressive when we had the game in hand was in the 2018 natty game against Bama as we were driving on that last drive. We should have put the ball in the endzone on that drive. But I can see why Dabo called off the dogs too. He has respect for Saban and the Bama program and didn’t want to rub it in.
I think until we have a game well under control score-wise, Dabo’s all for killer instinct. However, once the game is in-hand, he is gonna look to get some backups some reps and keep his starters fresh.

When he said “shove it down the other teams throat”, I took that as a clear message for Scar, UNC, FSU, ND and any other teams we may face in the post season. While we may sling it around and run tempo from time to time, we are not going to be a finesse offense. We will play power football and grind you down to control time of possession too.
To me, we didn’t have that attitude last year when we needed it. That is partly due to the OLine but also due to the OC “taking what the defense was giving” mindset. No! You must be willing and able to dictate to the D. You need to have the mindset that your are going to inflict your will on the other team. That goes for both sides of the ball. And the side that can do that best will win the battle. That is the mentality you need as a team and you practice that way!
No more of this wishy-washy “take what the D gives us” BS! The D is thinking “we ain’t giving you diddly squat”! That’s what they are thinking! So you have already capitulated if you go into a game plan thinking like that as an offense.
I like his measurement of success as being able to score more points than the other team. Yep, that sounds good to me. ☺️

This is a Clemson man that didn’t know he was a Clemson man until he got to Clemson. Dabo made an awesome hire here.

My nickname for Garrett Riley is Puddin'for this first season because the proof is in the pudding. If he can get this offense to perform and shove it down their throats and prove the pudding then his nickname will still be Puddin' for "Pudding it" in the endzone.
SO let's go Puddin'!

He has been conditioned by playing in the B12. There is no such thing as a "safe " lead in that conference. #### near every game is a shootout. Even when it isn't
