Went to the game last night….

With it being Spring Break and a Wednesday game, not many people and you had your pick of any seat in the house. After the previous night’s game, the team seemed pretty subdued.
Ricky Williams is a good, solid pitcher and should be on the mound more. Great mechanics. Olenchuck should also be getting more playing time. I think they’re just as good as any of our other older pitchers. Defense all around looked good.
More balls were put into play, as far as hitting goes, but still, it was Winthrop. Grice, Brewer, and Wagner still look like their trying too hard and can’t get out of their own heads.
Also, spoke with a players’ parent who said the Coastal game was ugly and fans were heckling players, coaches. He said a lot of it comes from the Cajun Cafe, not just the Coastal game. Also said that social media has been relentless. Fans, or so called fans, taking it to another level on there. He said they’re all frustrated right now, just like the fans are. I am not happy with Monte and his staff, but I will never take it out on these boys, calling them out and booing them at games. They work year round and barely get half the attention that football and basketball do.
This team needs to take the series this weekend at Pitt and turn the corner to get back into it.
Go Tigers!!

Yea fans tend to forget that these are still amateur athletes in every sense of the word...I understand heckling the opponents but never should heckle our own...
With that being said...My thoughts are shifting from it no longer being a coaching issue to it being a personnel and talent issue...Brewer just cant hit...He strikes out a ton and has been placed in every part of this lineup to help get him going. I dont know how Monte can say he is an every day player...The same could be said for quite a few guys in this line up.

I’ve been to a few games, and during those games, Wagner has not looked himself with his hitting. Not consistent lately. Just my observation. Yet, you can’t pass up the opportunity to be an a smart ###.

Wags is an outstanding prospect...

Fans that expect every team to win every game are not really true fans but just people who live in a fantasy world. You are 100% right that there is no excuse for yelling at individual players. Players are kids that go to school to get an education and play their sport to pay for their education. Coaches and players do what they can to win games but in the real world, no team goes undefeated in baseball.

Sounds like they need to have some controls of the Cajun Cafe area. I would guess that alcohol has a lot to do with it and they can control that.

They’re known for being “rowdy” and they do get some help from the alcohol. I had no idea they were heckling our own players though.

THE ONLY PLAYERS THE CAFE AND CHEAP SEATS CAN HECKLE IS THE RIGHT FIELDER. PROBLY NOT HECKLING GRICE IMO. BEEN IN BOTH PLACES A LOT. THE RIGHT FIELDER FROM THE OTHER TEAM IS DOGGED FOR 3 DAYS. SO FIGURE SOMETHING ELSE OUT.

I was in the Cajun Cafe both nights and there was no heckling of Clemson players. Get your facts straight…

Havent missed a game this year in the cajun cafe. Also, cant think of one instance where I have noticed someone heckling our own players, otherwise I would say something to that person. Of course there are some that heckle opposing players. But to indict one section of the stadium on a baseless claim seems a little unfair.

Yes, Ive been out there a few times and do not believe they are heckling our players. Mommies can be a little sensitive sometime, it's just natural.

This was a dad, and he said they have been heckling and yelling at Clemson players. Probably not every game. I take him at his word. I wasn’t there.

Don’t hate on the Cajun cafe just because ya can’t get in. I’ve been out there some this year and my season ticket in ud at all games except opening day and the 2pm game. No reason to say bad things but I yell all the time to do better monte or swing the bat or make adjustments. It’s too predictable and that’s sad. I tell my fiancé when she is at games with me well here goes a strikeout ball in dirt and a curve. Here he goes pop up swinging. I have been told im a bad fan and don’t support. Im at all games and if not im watching it on tv. Fans and donors have a right to express themselves. Yelling at other sporting events but nothing is said. We expect excellent. I get it we are gonna have games here and there. But lack of hustle on some plays. Yeah uncalled for. Guys are playing d1 ball they know what they signed up for and guys goin to pros yeah gonna be the same and worse!
